♡ Part 40: umbrella ♡

he trailed behind her as he wondered where she was headed. although she didn't have an umbrella and so her clothes started getting soaked. he wanted to run up to her and give her his umbrella, although something was telling him not to.

as he continued to follow her, he realized where she was heading to and it surprised him. he only ever showed her this place once and yet she had already memorized its path. he followed her into the little forest and watched her go towards the little wooden swing that hug from 2 fragile ropes onto the large tree branch. he watched her sit down and slowly swing herself back and forth. it was awfully quiet and her head, yet again was down. 

he slowly walked closer to her as he then realized she was gently singing a song. it seemed rather soothing and he then stopped to listen. her gentle and low volume voice left the raven haired boy to feel relaxed. although the song seemed rather familiar.

the rain drops started to get heavier and then he heard her cough. at this point, he knew he had to bring her under his umbrella

she continued to gently sing until she felt the rain drops stop falling on herself. she shifted her gaze behind her to see sasuke softly gaze down to her as he covered her with his umbrella. there was rain all over her although sasuke could still notice her slightly red eyes. she had been crying as she sang on the swing. 

sasuke: you'll catch a cold sakura

he said ever so softly. the pinkette looked down as she watched the little water droplets fall from the ends of her hair

sakura: what are you doing here, sasuke. g-go home

she felt herself feel a little colder and she wrapped her own arms around herself.  she still lightly swung herself on the swing. 

sasuke: i wanted to see where you were going

sakura: well now you know. so you can go now

sasuke: i'll stay until you can walk by yourself in the rain. but until then, just expect me to always end up where you are, just expect me to be here for you sakura. expect me to put an umbrella over your head, to protect you from this cold rain. 

he stopped talking once she stood up

sasuke: i'm always here sakura. i'll mess up every now and then, but i'm here sakura..

sakura could hear the pain in his voice and it wasn't something that she would experience often.....

sakuras back was still facing him but she could feel his hot breath close behind her

sakura: sasuke.... what do yo--

he walked infront of her and stood close to her. he tilted her chin up and stared right into her eyes. 

sasuke: you're going to say "what do you want" right? well.... i want to be the sasuke uchiha who can open himself up to the one who he cares for. i want to be the sasuke uchiha who is cold hearted but can still show affection.... and most of all, i want to be the sasuke uchiha who stopped sakura haruno from leaving... the sakura haruno whom sasuke is deeply in love with

her eyes widened at the last words. the only sounds that could be heard now were the sound of raindrops hitting the umbrella that was still above their heads. her lips quivered as she tried her best to not cry, although she couldn't handle it anymore. she couldn't handle suppressing her feelings anymore. she couldn't help it anymore. although it was right then and there where sasuke found the answer to itachis and kakashis question

Kakashi: what do you see yourself doing with sakura in the future?

Itachi: this will either bring you closer to her, or further away. But regardless of that, you still need to figure your own feelings out to at least try to fix things

sasuke: i love you sakura...

'Kakashi sensei.... big brother itachi..... I found the answer. I know what I want and what I need. And it's her'

a light tint of pink appeared onto his cheeks as he said so. 

sasuke: you probably don't love me anym--

it was then and there where sakura realized exactly what she wanted as well .she put her hands on his rock hard chest and tiptoed up to his lips. she made contact with his lips and she put hers against his. he immediately kissed her back as he wrapped his remaining hand around her waist as the other still held the umbrella. but he got too caught up in the moment and he let go of the umbrella

the other hand landed on her neck as he pulled her closer to him and deepened the kiss. 

'this is what i want itachi... kakashi-sensei... this is what i wanted for the future'

their eyes were closed as they both got soaked in the rain. they let their lips detach from each other as they stared into each others eyes. 

sakura: i love you sasuke

sasuke: i love you sakura

he wrapped his arms around her and embraced each others presence. 

sakura then let go and she cuffed her hands behind her back and smiled

sakura: sh-should we go home now?

he smiled and nodded his head as they finally took their leave. he gently laced his fingers with hers as they walked home together. when he let go of the umbrella, it flew away. he felt kind of stupid but he felt happy that he managed to finally tell sakura his feelings. 

as they walked home, silence was left between them but there was no need for talking. their hands that were intertwined said it all.

they reached sakuras home and they got to her doorstep. they smiled at each other as they knocked on the door. kakashi opened it but his eyes widened at the sight of sakura and sasuke but soon turned into a gentle smile

kakashi: you're soaking wet, hurry get in

she went inside after sharing one last glance with the ravenette. kakashi watched sakura head upstairs to her room and then he looked at sasuke

kakashi: good job, sasuke

sasuke smiled

sasuke: to answer your question, what i want in the future with sakura is love. that's it

he awkwardly smiled as it felt weird saying something like that to his sensei who just so happened to be sakuras most trusted person in her life

kakashi: i see...

he did his signature eyes smile as he created a path for the raven haired boy

sasuke: i'll just head home instead

before he could turn back around, he remembered he had one last thing to say to his sensei

sasuke: if it weren't for you, i'd be lost in my feelings. thank you, sensei

a genuine smiled crept onto his lips as kakashi softly gazed at his student. he knew he did his job once there was a reason for the cold hearted sasuke to say that to him

kakashi: my pleasure

sasuke turned around and headed home
