♡ Part 86: the forgotten gift ♡

he saw shikamaru and hidan together and he didn't want to intrude on them. shikamaru deserved to be happy when it came to loving a person, and so intruding on them would only ruin what they were building. 

as he walked away, he saw yet another duo. 

ino: what's this?

sai: that's a hockey puck

ino: what does it do?

sai face palmed himself and sasuke continued on his way

suigetsu: hey jugo, do you think i'll need extra padding?

jugo: yeah, you should be in your best condition so that also means taking care of your body

suigetsu: man, you're one smart guy

jugo: it's called common sense

suigetsu: 'it's called common sense'

the fish boy imitated his friend and the two of them laughed together, although yet again sasuke continued on his way alone

temari: i want to buy shikamaru a new pair of skates

gaara: do you know his shoe size?

the blonde blinked

temari: who cares

the duo smiled and continued on their way, as well as sasuke but in different directions

tenten: i think you should add glitter onto your hockey stick!

neji awkwardly ran his fingers through his brown locks

neji: do i have to?

tenten: yes

her answer was simple and her expression was firm, causing neji to smile in delight and kiss her cheek

neji: .....fine

tenten wrapped her arms around her beloved and pecked his cheek although sasuke continued walking alone. 

it couldn't have been a coincidence that everyone he was forcefully no longer friends with were all gathered at the same place he was. it was saturday, so it made sense, but for everyone to be here at the same time was odd.

he dug his hands deeper into his pockets and continued on his way

naruto: sakura! look at what i found!

sakura: i'm buying these!

naruto: i'll buy them for you y'know, it's not that big of a deal

when sasuke glanced at what sakura was holding onto, his heart ached. it was almost like everything in his world had iced over just like his heart, causing him to burn from the crisp and freezing air. 

sakura: don't worry, i can pay for these. 

sasuke tied his brows together as he continued to stare at them. naruto wrapped an arm around her and grabbed the item out of her hands

naruto: think of it as my good luck charm to you

sakura: naruto....

naruto smiled widely

naruto: take my good luck charm sakura-chan

without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around him and dug her face into the crook of his neck. sasuke could see the way naruto's cheeks were practically dyed red and his eyes were left wide. before sasuke could process the situation, he watched as naruto grabbed the side of sakuras head and pulled her away
