♡ Part 71: the note ♡

3 DAYS LATER (January 11th)

TO SASUKE

the raven dragged his feet to school with his eyes glued to the floor. he hadn't spoken to sakura at all for the whole weekend knowing well that naruto must've been with her. he didn't want to disturb their time together so he decided to not do anything at all. instead, he was stuck with itachi's lectures about how he shouldn't leave his problems to solve on their own and other things of that context. 

shikamaru: i'm too lazy to run so stop being a drag and wait there

sasuke stopped in his place as he looked over his shoulder to see his best friend trudging his feet towards him with the most laziest expression he had ever mustered. once he finally caught up, the two of them made their way to school together

shikamaru: that hidan guy from hockey practice last week, he found my number and told me that he's transferring to our school along with the other bothersome players

sasuke: hmph

that was a response that the normal sasuke would have given, although things seemed different this time around. he seemed different. the lazy nara yawned as they got onto the school grounds and made their way to their usual spot

shikamaru: is something troublesome for you right now?

sasuke shook his head although his onyx eyes seemed distant

sasuke: sakura, did she talk to you this weekend?

his voice didn't seem to have a tone to it, but by the looks of his face, shikamaru could tell something was wrong

shikamaru: she did, once. she asked if you were okay

sasuke scoffed under his breath

shikamaru: what happened?

sasuke: she ditched me to go to a doctors appointment with dobe

the nara's eyes became somewhat wide at the uchiha's confession. he began to remember all the things that happened at the ski house not too long ago and internally face palmed himself. 

shikamaru: are you going to talk to them about it?

sasuke didn't respond to him and instead fixated his gaze to the group that was approaching them. he felt his teeth unconsciously clench as they came with laughter and smiles. shikamaru noticed this but didn't say anything about it

naruto: oi teme! shikamaru! 

shikamaru: what a drag

sakura: hey...

ino: c'mon sasuke, come and kiss your girlfriend

the raven remained silent and the pinkettes smile just ever so slightly decreased. 

suigetsu: new kids are coming today

ino: i wonder if any of them are hot

sai felt a betrayed stab to his chest

the bell rang and they started flooding the halls to start yet another day of highschool. sakura trailed behind her lover to see that his head was ducked down more than what it should be. she felt a frown crease her face as she stared at his back

she figured she should talk to him. once they reached the locker bay, she quickly removed her jacket and took her books from her bag. she closed her locker and made her way to sasuke's. she wrapped one arm around him although got nothing to receive

sakura: sasuke? can we talk?

he closed his locker and faced her

sasuke: not now, sakura
