♡ Part 58: gotten herself in trouble ♡

TO SHIKAMARU

sakura: c'mon!

ino: hold on sakura

they were all headed to the shrine and sakura was getting annoyed with how slow the others were walking

sakura: you guys are taking too long, i'll just head to the shrine a little earlier 

naruto: wait up sakura-chan, i'll come

she smiled and they took their leave as shikamaru watched them oddly

'what a drag...'

he yawned and watched the duos figure fade away

TO SAKURA

naruto: why are you trying to get there quickly

sakura looked down and smiled

sakura: i just want to get there a little earlier y'know

it was about to be midnight and she couldn't wait to visit the shrine. if she was being honest with herself, she expected to go to the shrine with just herself and kakashi although things were different this year. actually, many things were different this year. but she was pleased to have narutos company with her. 

after walking a bit, they finally reached the shrine and sakura sighed. naruto stood beside her as they stood before the shrine and began the process. naruto took a quick glance at her and noticed how calm she looked. after awhile, they finished and waited for the others to soon come. the pinkette took a seat at a bench and naruto saw a little pocky stand and so he bought some and brought them back to his best friend. he sat down and opened the mini box. he motioned for her to take some and so she did. 

shikamaru: you guys finished already?

he walked over to them although he was alone

sakura: we just finished

shikamaru nodded and took a seat next to naruto. soon after, the others came and did the same and paid their visit to the shrine. after they all finished, it was well past midnight and so they decided to take their leave

shikamaru: hey sakura, i'll take the taxi with naruto

she looked at shikamaru and then at naruto. she nodded and then went to kakashi and the others

shikamaru: let's go

naruto: kay

they took a taxi and started heading back to the ski house. naruto knew that he couldn't hide it from shikamaru. there were only two people who he wanted to tell, and they were kakashi and shikamaru. the thing is, shikamaru was one of the closest people to naruto and he knew that naruto would tell him what happened. 

naruto: sakura and i... we

he looked down and stared at his hand. shikamaru noticed and waited for naruto to continue

naruto: i told her i like her

shikamaru face palmed himself which caused a loud slapping sound. the taxi driver took a quick glance at them from the mirror and then looked back at the road

shikamaru: what did she say

narutos eyes widened as he couldn't think of what she said. he completely got lost in his thoughts and then it hit him. that was the moment he realized what he did

naruto: I KISSED SAKURA

shikamarus eyes widened and naruto seemed even more surprised than he did. 

shikamaru: ...what the hell

naruto: i um.... all i remember was that i was saying some stuff y'know and then i.... shikamaru!
