AFTER SCHOOL 

TO SAKURA

ino: seriously?

sakura, ino, hinata, temari and tenten all walked side by side as they left the school grounds together

sakura: sorry i'd join you guys but i have some practicing to do

hinata: o-oh okay sakura-chan. we'll b-be at the cafe for a f-few hours if you do end up ch-changing your mind

sakura smiled

sakura: thanks

ino: well the rink is on the way to the cafe so we'll walk you there, yeah?

.....

temari: do you think it'll fit him?

it was not an exaggeration, sakura really did feel her heart hurt for temari

sakura: i think it'll fit him

a sad smile plastered the pinkettes lips

sakura: that's really thoughtful, temari

the blonde girl frowned but her cheeks tinted a great shade of red. the other girls had already dropped sakura off at the arena and temari insisted on staying with sakura to speak to her about a certain matter and so that's what she did. 

sakura: when did you start feeling this way for shikamaru?

sakura began to slip on her white figure skates and temari leaned back on the bench they sat on

temari: 3rd grade, when he dropped his sandwich on the floor and stared at it silently for 10 minutes straight

the two of them chuckled as their early memories began rushing to them. temari's eyes were soft and her lips formed a sweet smile as she recalled the beginning of her journey of love for shikamaru

temari: i watched him and he didn't move from his place for 10 minutes straight. i thought he was a dork, which he is. but i also thought he was cute

sakura: cute? shikamaru? are we talking about the same person?

the pinkette chuckled but temari's smile saddened. she watched as sakura tightened the laces of her figure skates and soon stand to her feet

temari: shikamaru likes you, a lot.

the pink haired beauty stopped

temari: he's been in love with you for so long and even i could see it. he's subtle, but he really does care about you. 

sakura: you think so?

sakura's back faced temari, but her face was currently very soft and fragile at the moment. 

sakura: i always had a feeling that he liked me, but i think him and i are more like brother and sister than potential lovers. and plus i don't think he loves me that way anymore.

temari: what? who does he like now?

sakura placed a blind eye to shikamaru's feelings for her because she didn't want to ruin what herself and shikamaru shared---- that being, the bond of the brother/sisterhood. shikamaru meant too much to her for her to ruin the relationship they had. she knew that there would be a day where he would move on and so she always supported him and his doings.

she could tell that his feelings for her were genuine, but his feelings for hidan were just as genuine. 

sakura: that's for shikamaru to tell you, but temari, i want to tell you this

sakura finally faced the blonde girl, but to only see that temari's eyes were filled with tears. she was always the kind of girl to be mean and tough---- the one who always pulled through when things were tough.
