♡ Part 77: silent cry ♡

TO SAKURA

she couldn't believe the words her best friend relayed to her. 

ino: l-let's go.....sakura?

the pinkette was taken aback with the new information she had received. did sasuke really hurt naruto that badly? why? none of this made sense because naruto and sasuke were the best of friends. they deeply cared for each other and for sasuke to lash out that way let alone naruto to allow that was very confusing for the pinkette. 

she shot to her feet and slipped her jacket, ankle boots and neck scarf on as ino did the same. they quickly took their leave and practically ran to school in hopes of seeing naruto. 

was this really the sasuke she was in love with?

after running as if there was no tomorrow, they reached the school grounds and forced their way into the school. they sped walked until they reached tsunade's office although once they did, they almost regretted coming in the first place. 

shikamaru: what a drag...

when the nara noticed the two girls that were quickly approaching them, he pushed himself off of the wall and trudged his feet to them knowing how sakura was going to react.

sakura: what happened to naruto?

shikamaru shook his head knowing that he was going to be the one to tell her

'what a....drag' 

shikamaru: sasuke beat naruto up in the change rooms. sasori told sasuke what you said when he visited you, and then sasuke got mad and his attitude became worrisome. 

shikamaru's eyes iced over

shikamaru: he beat naruto.... probably worse than when sasori beat him. 

as shikamaru spoke to her, her hand unconsciously traveled to her mouth from surprise. 

'did sasuke rea---'

shikamaru knocked on the door and a muffled female yell could be heard coming from the opposite side of the door. 

shikamaru: sakura's here...

a familiar male voice could be heard, but it was weak and dark. it made sakura choke back a gasp that dared to spill from her lips

tsunade: -muffled- let her in

shikamaru turned his head to sakura and signaled for her to go inside. of all people, she was the one who needed to see naruto first. 

and of all people, she was the one who naruto would want to see first. 

sakura made her way to the door and opened it quicker than she had initially thought she would, but once she did, her brows tied together from sadness. she quickly made her way to naruto and examined his body. bruised face, swollen lip, a very visible black eye and when she looked to the side, she saw that his crutches were broken. 

tsunade: close the door

shikamaru did as he was told and left the three of them to speak alone. tsunade started off with a sigh

tsunade: luckily the damn uchiha didn't hurt him internally. they're all external injuries that should heal within 4-14 days. his ankle hasn't been injured further, although he still needs to take it easy. 

sakura: naruto...

her voice was stern and strong, but her facial expression was the complete opposite. naruto did his best to tug the ends of his lips upwards and force a weak and fake smile onto them.
