♡ Part 56: hidden stars and overpowering clouds ♡

he stared at the pinkette from inside. she was looking up at the sky as she held her hands close to her chest. he admired the view he was seeing before him. the pinkette made her hair in a special way and wore the kimono his mom and hinata bought her. he slowly walked over to her as the only thing he could hear was his heart thumping out of his chest. he opened the door to the balcony and she turned around 

TO SAKURA

she turned around and saw naruto trying to come out onto the balcony

sakura: what are you doing, are you done getting ready

everyone had already left and so it was just the two of them. once she faced him, he saw the faint makeup that she wore and then he quickly looked down

naruto: i'm done getting ready y'know

sakura: oh okay

she turned herself back the other way and looked up at the sky. naruto made his way beside her and looked up as well

sakura: the clouds are blocking the stars...

he took a quick glance at her and notice her sparkling eyes that stared up at the moonlight. 

naruto: theres a star right beside you y'know

she chuckled as she still stared at the sky.

naruto: you know, even if you can't see the stars right now. it doesn't mean that you won't find them soon. 

sakura looked at naruto who was still staring at the sky with a smile. although this time, it wasn't the usual and cheerful one. it seemed more like a smile of... sadness. she could see right through his gaze although she still couldn't see something else...

she looked back up and he sighed

naruto: if the stars do show themselves, are you still going to admire and accept them?

naruto bit his bottom lip as he knew what he was implying. although it hurt him knowing that sakura probably didn't see or understand what he actually meant

sakura: i would accept them no matter what. the stars probably didn't show up for a certain reason and so they are finally showing themselves once they're ready and have the chance. right now, the stars can't be revealed because of the clouds. the cloudy contrast is blocking it.

naruto: sakura, i don't think you'll accept them like you think you will y'know. you'd rather watch the moving clouds than watch the stars. when the stars do show themselves, you won't care because you'll miss the cloudy contrast

naruto slowly clenched his fist knowing that what he was saying was all too true. not just in the sense of stars, but in the sense of his love

sakura: you don't know that naruto. i could welcome the stars back like no one else. i love the stars. i love the clouds too but i've always loved the stars. even if i don't talk about it, i still do. i can't even find wor--

naruto: so then what about me sakura?! what about me y'know

he turned to face her as he felt his eyes lightly sting

naruto: what if.... what if my feelings were the stars sakura. would you still welcome them and return the same feelings? 

she turned to him as her eyes widened. he stepped closer to her as he stared down at the pinkette. he knew that he couldn't keep it in anymore. hearing everything that she was saying was infuriating him because he knew that when it came to his love, she would never treat it the same

naruto: you wouldn't sakura. i know you wouldn't....

he looked down at his feet and then back into her emerald green orbs.

naruto: i love you s-sakura. i love you so much that i feel like a horrible friend for this. i know you love sasuke, i know you don't love me y'know. you won't return the love that the stars are giving you. i just know it

he couldn't hold it in anymore and so he let a tear slide down his cheek. he's never felt more weak than this

naruto: for crying out loud sakura, i've loved you since we were kids. i never told you because you liked sasori and then when he left, you were crushed and i couldn't tell you then. i just hoped that once we got to highschool, maybe, just maybe i could tell you but i didn't y'know!

another tear fell down and sakura silently stared at the blonde boy who stood before her

naruto: i hate it y'know. i hate that i feel this way. it's literally eating me up inside you don't even know sakura. i love you sakura!. i love you so much i can't even tell you. you talking about the stars just made me mad. how could you say that you'll love them? you can't sakura.... even if you did.... you wouldn't love them as much as you love the clouds

he sighed as he stared into her eyes. to sakura, it felt like he was staring into her like no one else had ever. there was not one person... not a single soul who she could think of who stared at her the way naruto did.

naruto: i shouldn't even be telling you how i feel. it's not like it'll do anything anyways y'know. i don't want to get in the way of your relationship. but i know that my feelings couldn't even do that anyw--

sakura: can you shut up naruto...

his eyes widened as he noticed the tears that were filling her eyes. not once has naruto ever spoken to her the way he did right now. it really hit her while hearing him say all of this. she could tell that it was hurting him and she couldn't help but feel a little mad that he kept all this inside. it was clearly eating him up as he said and it was the latter that made her feel much guilt in her bones.

sakura: how could you say that? naruto.... you mean the world to me. i would never, not in a million years trade your love for anyone else's. What you're saying isn't even close to what i thought of you. the stars, as much as i love the clouds, the love for the stars are different. as i said before, i missed the stars. the clouds were in the way and i couldn't realize how important the stars are to me...

he stared at her oddly as he didn't understand what she was trying to imply. He grabbed her arms and stared right into her eyes as she did the same.  Their faces just being centimetres apart as he squeezed somewhat harshly onto her soft arms

sakura: heck, naruto.... why couldn't you tell me before. we could've.... i could've.... just why didn't you tell me befo--

she stopped talking once she felt his lips on hers. not for a second did she contemplate on whether to return the kiss or not. she let her eyes close as she felt herself get devoured by his soft lips. he let go of her arms and wrapped one arm around her waist and the other at the back of her neck. a small tear ran down narutos cheek as he let all his feelings out in this kiss. he knew that this could never happen again and so he let her know everything by this one kiss. 

'sasuke....'

'teme....'

'forgive me...'

'.... i shouldn't have...'

He deepened the kiss as he pushed the back of her neck closer to him.  they let their feelings flow right into each other. but then soon let go. the only thing that they could hear were their little and gentle panting sounds as they finally unlocked their lips. naruto looked down as he noticed the dark yet beautiful rose shaded tint on sakuras cheeks. he took her hand and held it as he still looked down. 

naruto: i didn't tell you before, but i told you now. although...

he then let go of her hand and looked back into her eyes

naruto: it shouldn't change your love for teme

he bit his bottom lip knowing that later on, he would regret saying that. heck, he was already regretting it although he couldn't let his feelings ruin his best friends happiness with the girl he loves. 

she looked down and slowly nodded her head which crushed him even more. although little did he know that it crushed her as well. it crushed her letting herself nod to what he said although she couldn't show him it...
