♡ Part 78: his smile, her plea ♡

ino didn't know how to feel about sasuke at the moment, and so she shrugged her bitter and neutral feelings away for now until she could figure it out. the others seemed to quiet down the moment they reached the silent trio and things became awfully awkward.

that was until deidara spoke

deidara: today we got art class, right? hmph! it's gonna be great!

suigetsu: we don't have hockey practice today 'cause it's wednesday....

the fish boy glanced over sasuke's direction for a split second

suigetsu: but i heard from coach that we might have a tournament again

kiba: we all remember what happened the last time we had a tournament..

everyone awkwardly chuckled, causing sasori and sasuke to stiffen.

ino: where's sakura?

hinata: sakura-chan..... she's coming this w-way

they turned heads and saw naruto and sakura together. ino's eyes narrowed as sasuke's became hollow from the sight. naruto's arm was wrapped around sakura due to the fact that he currently didn't have crutches, and the two of them walked in a slow pace so that he didn't get hurt. the worry that was plastered onto the pinkettes face was visible to any person even from a mile away. 

ino: sakura...

as the duo finally met up with the group, the awkward silence filled the air again as sakura held onto naruto

naruto: i can stand, thanks sakura-chan

sakura: are you sure? i mean, your ankle--

naruto gave her a very faint smile

naruto: don't worry y'know

as she pulled her arm away from him, her eyes met with a specific pair of onyx. she quickly flickered it away and set naruto to lean against the fence and she sighed. ino decided that this was her cue to lighten the mood

ino: well deidara-senpai was right! art class should be fun today!

deidara: i'm not your senpai!

ino: geez.... i know it already, you're just mad that my hair is more luscious than yours

the group laughed as deidara's face reddened. the only people who didn't laugh were naruto, sasuke and sakura. 

the bell rang and they began to flood the halls although before sakura could bring naruto into her grasp again, shikamaru stepped in between them and gave her a straight face. 

shikamaru: i can take him, it's okay. 

sakura eyed her best friend for a moment before nodding

sakura: can you bring him to lady tsunade? she should have his new crutches

he gave her a small nod with a smile

shikamaru: thanks

emerald eyes trailed over the duo once more before heading off. the only people who remained outside were sasuke, naruto and shikmaru

naruto: teme--

the raven was on his way. naruto sighed

shikamaru: c'mon, it'd be drag if we were late to class

naruto: yeah..

TO HINATA

she made her way to her locker and unpacked her things along with kiba. the two of them had been dating for awhile now and they couldn't be more happy than they were now. hinata, truly and honestly loved kiba with all of her heart. he was there for her when she had her heart secretly broken by naruto, and now, they two of them share a deep bond that only grows each time they see each other.
