As Thing 1 and Thing 15 followed their new friend Merlin, Maddy finally decided to check her phone. She almost paid no mind to the notifications and had it on silent when she wasn't using it. To her surprise or lack thereof, she noticed several missed calls and unread text messages from "Hornet", which was what she aptly renamed James.

"Very funny, Maddy. Now where did you
and Thomas hide my trucks?"   9:42 AM

"You didn't hide them, did you?"   9:50 AM

"Did you idiots really steal my shit!?"   9:51 AM

"Is this about what I said? Really?"   9:53 AM

"Pick up your phone, this isn't a laughing matter"   9:55 AM

"Urgh, you're lucky the fat man has assigned
me to other duties. Please pick up later."   10:01 AM

"You're not going to pick up, are you" 11:24 PM

"Maddy, Honey Bee, this isn't funny anymore
please come home"   6:45 AM

"I'm worried."   6:45 AM

"Please forgive me, I'm sorry for hurting your feelings"   6:46 AM

"And no Edward didn't force me to say that.

I really am sorry."   6:47 AM

"Why aren't you picking up?
Did something happen?"   6:50 AM

"That's it."   8:51 AM

"I know where you're heading,
I'm going to find you myself."   8:52 AM

Maddy just rolled her eyes. Within two days James managed to try and call her 19 times. Man, he was serious about this. It didn't matter to her, she had a right to be upset. Though, she probably should've said something to let him know she was still alive, but even with all her close encounters with death, traumatizing him and herself, she didn't think about that. Maddy was too angry at him to assess that need.

"What's with that face?" Thomas hummed.

"Oh, you know, James. He's coming to look for us, or rather, me. I don't think he cares about you."

"Ah. When did he make THAT decision."

"Today at around nine."

"It's almost noon...did he get lost?"

"I don't think he expected his girlfriend to get sidetracked. He's probably either almost there or freaking out because he can't find us."

"Ooooh, relationship trouble?" Merlin peeped, "This isn't your cargo, is it?"

"Nope! We're thieves." Maddy beamed, "But we're still going to deliver it, as you can see."

"Well, that's all that matters then," he winked. "Now the yard you're looking for is just over there. This is as far as I can take you. You two have a lovely day. Invisibility...on!"

With a hearty wheesh, smoke plumed out of Merlin's funnels, where he 'disappeared' from their sight. They both knew what was really going on but just went along with it.

"C'mon, TomTom, to the yards!"
