I turned around to see if perhaps a gap would appear in the mana stream around us. The stuff was like a seamless cloth. But there had to be some non-obvious gaps.

"Wait," Uncle exclaimed.

I opened my eyes.

"What's the matter?" I asked, blinking.

"I almost forgot, when using Yuki, you need to have a low center of gravity, else the recoil will blow you away along with your target."

Good thing he remembered to tell me that now...

"Is there a way to form a gap in the mana?" I asked as I spread my legs and bent my knees.

He smirked. "Is there? Use what you know to make that determination yourself."

My eyes closed once more. Forming a gap... He mentioned that they form during the clash of mana. Come to think about it, something akin to a gap formed during Eiichi and Hyosetsu's battle back at the palace. They had begun to bend... space.

"I got it!" I yelled, opening my eyes.

He chuckled. "Well, that didn't take long. Do you think you really got it?"

"Mana is in everything, right?"

"Yes, that something even kids back home know."

"It's what's behind the fabric of our reality. That's why during Eiichi and Hyosetsu's clash on the day the knights gathered, space began to distort. Same for when Setty fought Hyosetsu."

He smiled. "Go on."

"The reason that it began to distort like that had to have been because of the rapid appearance and disappearance of gaps in the mana. It's like beating eggs, the more one mixes it, the foamier it becomes. Those bubbles are akin to the gaps in the 'wind', are they not?"

"Are they? Wish to try your theory out?"

I nodded and closed my eyes once more. The same stream of energy encircled me. I raised Aventine over my head and covered the edge facing away from me with my own mana. "Rending Space!" I yelled, slashing the air. A gap in the mana stream formed, but it quickly began to close. "Yuki!"

I swung once more, sending more mana through the remnant of the gap. I gasped as a force nearly knocked me back. My uncle jumped out of the way as an even stronger force made its way toward him.

I opened my eyes and saw as the doors got destroyed in an instant, revealing nothing but empty space on the other side. The ceiling though began to be slashed as the forced made its way up and around the room. I jumped to the side and watched as the ground I once stood on was cut. It continued on for a good amount of time, creating an enormous gap in every direction.

"Woah," uncle said, watching as it continued. "Good thing I decided to take you here instead of training in that mountain. You would've destroyed the poor island and beyond.
