Koon Pov

My Aguero...

My dear son, are you listening?

They're trash, but I feel bad for them.

You mustn't believe what anyone says.

How can you feel bad for them?

The moment we show weakness, we'll die.

Filth.

Drowning in a wretched love.

Such a pitiful man.

Fooled by Maria and betrayed...

My Aguero...

My old memories washed through me once again. I absent-mindedly played with the soft cloth on my lap, only to be brought out into reality once again when Baam struck a conversation.

"Koon, the ceiling here is rather bright, don't you think?" He asked, making me look up into the sky.

"Baam, that's called a sky. And isn't it such a beautiful shade of blue? It's just like Koon's hair." Cecelia commented.

I looked down to my lap, realizing that the "soft cloth" that I had been playing with all this time had actually been her long hair. Cecelia was lying sideways on the bench, her head in my lap and her hair in my hands. I felt a small blush crawl up to my face at the position we were in. Pushing the thoughts away, I focused back on Baam, who was now getting laughed at by Rak.

"You wanted to see the stars that badly?" I asked, feeling Cecelia's silky tresses flowing through my fingers.

"No, not me. Lahel."

"Hm?"

"She came to the Tower because she wanted to see the stars. That's why I hoped that they would be visible from here." Baam answered, making Cecelia snort in disapproval.

Cecelia knows about this... Lahel. More than Baam here. She's most likely not what Baam thinks she is, judging by Cecelia's reaction. Making a mental note to ask Cecelia more about Lahel later on, I decided to hit Baam with another question of my own.

"So, this friend Lahel of yours. Why did she leave you and Cecelia and climb the Tower alone?" I asked.

"Huh?"

"And why did she take care of you for so long? It's rather odd."

"There's nothing odd about Lahel!!" Baam argued, Cecelia opening her eyes to look into my own.

"The blue turtle made the black turtle angry!!" Rak commented as Cecelia sat up once again.

A slight bit of disappointment filled my heart. Wait. Why do I feel disappointed? I stood up from my seat, Cecelia silently and absent-mindedly staring up into the sky with emotionless eyes. I glanced at the female, before pushing both the thought and feeling away. No. I'm just overthinking things.

"No, I'm not angry-" Baam clarified, just a stream of screams were heard from the room where the Third Test was being held.

Cecelia put her Pocket into Visible Mode, showing that eleven minutes had passed since the group had gone inside. The next team entered, and soon enough, they screamed too. Cecelia's Pocket showed that it had been nine minutes since the group had gone inside.

"Any team that didn't scream... passed within the first five minutes," Cecelia muttered.

Just as I was about to ask what she had meant by that, a man who seemed to have a fluorescent yellow balloon for a body butted into our conversation.

"You kids look extremely distressed," He said, freaking the hell out of Cecelia and surprising Baam.

"We don't need your help or your comments!!" Cecelia persisted, glaring at the creepy-looking balloon man.

"So mean... and here I was, just about to give you some pointers," He said.

"No thank you!!" She replied, obviously frazzled by the balloon man's comment.

He shrugged and left. Baam, having noticed her scared state, comforted her as the three of us comfortably sat on top of a sleeping Rak. And before I had the chance to ask Cecelia what she had meant by her statement earlier, we were called in for our Third Test.

When we entered the dark room, there was a strange-looking clock on the wall- the was only one needle, and the numbers on the clock went from one to ten. What could it mean? I wondered.

"Cecelia, look. There's a clock... time must be related somehow." Baam commented, replied by Cecelia with a mysterious smile.

A series of red doors appeared around the room. And in the middle of it all, was a male with long honey blonde hair in a bun, drinking what seemed to be instant coffee.

"My name is Hansung Yu. I'm the director of the test you're taking. The condition for passing this test is to open the correct door. That's it. You have only one chance to open a door, and if you take longer than ten minutes, then the test will be forcefully terminated."

"Forcefully terminated?" I asked.

A hole opened up on the dark floor, showing us the bloody, dead, mangled bodies of the failed teams. Cecelia covered her nose and mouth with her hands, but I didn't miss the look of bloodlust and excitement in her blood-red eyes, the corner of her pink lips upturned in a slight smirk. I could only frown at the horrid sight.

"The test will now-"

"Wait!! We need more clues!!" I yelled.

"I've given you all the clues." The Ranker replied, giving us a cryptic smile.

"The test has begun."

Is it just me? Did anyone else get terrified/creeped out by the balloon man? To be honest, when I first saw him on the Webtoon, I freaked out...
