*scrambles to get this out before new years and fails* HI i'm back on my sporadic posting spree yayyyyy :D this chapter is a request from quotev about what tropes and stuff the characters embody. all the things here are taken from tv tropes, which is a really fun website that tells you all about tropes for practically every piece of media that's out there, including aot. this is kinda hard to post on wattpad because of the lack of formatting available but i tried to put the laconic (short version taken from the website, not written by me) to help people understand if these are tropes they're not familiar with

with that being said, HAVE A GREAT 2023!!!!!! i'll try to find a schedule for updating this darn book one day B)

Tropes for all characters:

Battle Couple: (Two lovers that kick ass together.) If the relationship is taking place in the AOT universe, this is pretty much unavoidable.
Grow Old with Me: (Fall in love young, stay in love in old age.) Because there's too much angst in canon.
Lonely Together: (Two people sharing a common bond of loneliness.) At some point in the AOT verse, there's a point for every character where they hit rock-bottom. However, the two of you stick together like peas in a pod and hopefully survive...unless...nevermind let's get back to happy stuff
Perverse Sexual Lust: (Real Life attraction to a fictional character.) *comedic laughter ensues*

Eren:

Can't Tie His Tie: (Someone is really bad at tying neckties.) I could totally see something at least similar to this going on. Not necessarily with a tie, but maybe his hair? When he first started to grow it out he had no idea what to do and let you work some magic with it (unless you're like me and have no idea how to do hair), and it kind of became part of your daily routine to give him a nice hairdo
Crazy Jealous Guy: (A male character who's zealously protective of his and will react aggressively (and violently) to anyone he perceives to be a threat to the relationship.) If you know, you know. But if you don't? Let me explain: when Eren has his eyes set on somebody, he REALLY does want a relationship with them, and will do anything to achieve it. This includes acting like a four year old whenever someone gets near his partner - a habit you kind of have to help him learn to get out of.
Mayfly-December Romance: (Romance between characters of radically different life expectancies.) Considering Ymir's curse, this is unfortunately true. It makes you really frustrated to think about it.
Race for Your Love: (Someone is about to leave the city/state/country forever, but their lover runs to the train station/airport to convince them to stay.) There are several scenes in the AOT verse alone where this could have happened, some of them including but not limited to: Eren going to Marley, the scene after he fights Armin and Mikasa...you get the point. It also happens a little in the Modern AU - I guess he just has a really bad tendency to leave you hanging. Reminds me of a certain special family technique idk

Mikasa:

Declaration of Protection: (A character is motivated to defend someone.) If in the regular AOT verse, this could also tie into The Dulcinea Effect (Risking your life defending someone you just met.)
Hypocritical Heartwarming: ("Hey! No one's mean to that person except ME!") More often then not, Mikasa can and will act like your mom. She worries a ton about your safety and wellbeing, and ends up having to talk to you a lot because of how stressed out it is. But the moment someone else criticizes you? She immediately rushes to your defense. How dare anyone attack her sweet loving partner!
Laugh of Love: (A character giggles/laughs when around their love interest.) Mikasa has a really cute and wholesome laugh, though the only times she tends to bring it out is when she's around you.

Let's Duet: (Two characters in a work sing together.) If the two of you had your own story together, it would most likely be some sort of musical. Mikasa would probably do most of the songs, but you would feature on a couple and it would be cute. If not a duet, then Serenade Your Lover (A character sings to his or her to convey their passion.) could cut it? Either way, I like to headcanon that Mikasa, because of her important view on songs as a way to vent her feelings, writes all of the lyrics herself and even wants to try her hand at composing.
Violently Protective Girlfriend: Exactly what it says on the tin.
