☆ 3rd Person POV ☆

It felt darker in the SandWing palace. Oddly silent, even. It made (S/n) worry.

(S/n) was one of the oldest guards, at least since General Gecko had retired being ninety years old, serving the queen even before Queen Oasis. (S/n) looked up to them and was willing to take their place. Despite his status as "only" a guard, (S/n) was friends with the last remaining prince, Prince Smolder.

(S/n) had been friends with Smolder for many years. Almost to the point where it was hard to remember his life without the other. He often reflected on his first true interaction with the prince.

It was late in the night. (S/n) was patrolling the palace, just like he usually did, as that was his assigned time. His (e/c) eyes widened at what he saw. It was Prince Smolder, looking over one of the tapestries.

" Your majesty? May I ask you why you are up at this hour? ", (S/n) spoke up, seeming to be genuinely concerned.

" I go where the moons take me. ", Smolder answered, shooting a glimpse at the (s/c) SandWing.

(S/n) sighed, going over, and sitting next to Prince Smolder. He carefully observed the tapestry, noting all the special stitching that was embedded in it. It was a portrait of Queen Oasis, along with the three prominent SandWing princesses above her. With the colors above the three sisters, (S/n) concluded that it was foreshadowing the future, just as if a NightWing had made this.

" My sisters all seem to be planning something. Well, other than Blaze. ", Smolder hummed, almost talking to himself.

" I do see it, especially in Blister's eyes. I think if Princess Saffron or Princess Scarab do not challenge Queen Oasis, Princess Blister will. ", (S/n) agreed, reflecting on the Queen's two sisters.

" Oh, someone with some sense. ", Smolder acknowledged, a smile actually appearing on his face.

" Now, I do not wish to interrupt your inner monolog, but you should get to bed. ", (S/n) reminded, his tone soft.

" Unfortunately, I do believe you are correct. ", Smolder nodded, easily agreeing with (S/n)

Then, (S/n) proceeded to escort the prince to the correct headquarters. He found Prince Smolder to be... somewhat charming in a sense. Being hopeful, despite the circumstances.

(S/n) smiled at the memory. After that one meeting, they ran into each other more and more. (S/n) enjoyed the prince's company more than he would like to admit.

(S/n) let a smile creep onto his face thinking about the other. He stopped, glancing out the window in the stronghold. He admired the three moons for a few moments before he heard crying.

His heart sank when he recognized the voice to be... Prince Smolder. Not trying to seem too worried, (S/n) began to walk in that direction, but not running. He needed to make sure the prince... no, his friend... was alright.
