Unknown POV.

My heart shook, my indifferent eyes narrowed as my body felt weak.

It...Was a weird feeling.

This girl...She made me feel something I had never felt before.

"Son?" I hear my father call out to me.

"I think I'm going to meet her." I say quietly.

"...Really?" My father says, unable to contain the excitement in his voice.

Back when I was younger, I had found no interest in women.

No one excited me.

The world seemed greyscale.

Bland, unoriginal and colourless.

It persisted to the point where they took my indifference for me being into men.

Then the drama unfolded for weeks on end as I assured my parents that I was absolutely not into males whatsoever and just preferred to abstain until something could rile me up.

And here I was, sitting at this debut of the smartest person alive, my heart beating faster than ever.

That girl had brought colour to my life and I wanted her.

I needed her.

I will make sure she becomes mine and mine only.

After all, few would dare oppose the son of James Andrew Carnegie, the person who singlehandedly revolutionised and monopolised the steel industry back in the 1900s?

I am Maddox Steele Carnegie, only son of Julian Wilhelm Carnegie and sole inheritor to the Carnegie Steel Company with a net worth in the billions.

I would take over my father's company after I turned 20 in four years.

The crowd released a thunderous applause after witnessing this heavenly performance, the music starting and waiters entering the hall and serving food.

People had arrived on the formal dance floor and mingled.

I, went straight for the kill.

Whispers floated as I made my way across.

'Hey, that's Carnegie's son! Is he going for the Niko Family?'

'I heard he never showed interest in women before!'

'That's because he never found anyone interesting!'

'Wasn't he gay or something?'

Everything was the same besides the last comment.

That stung a little, making my eye twitch.

I make my way until I meet face to face with the Young Miss herself.

And I see it.

That same look I give this world.

This world is too boring.

Just like it is for me, as it is for her.

We are the same.

I flash her a small smile,"Care to dance?"

"What kind?" She retorts, her eyes showing curiosity.

"I'm not into formal dances...How about something...Flashy?" I suggested,"Let's make the whole world jealous."

Amusement flashed in her eyes as she giggles lightly,"What do you have in mind, Mister..."

"Carnegie. Call me Maddox."
