Alexis' POV.

We had our food and went back, Snow introducing his family that had come back.

They got me clothes fitting my size and Snow introduced me to them.

After that, he ushered them out of the room, closing the door.

"Okay. Crisis averted."

"Crisis?"

"They can talk for days on end-Especially about you. You heard the chatter in the mall. Everyone's still wondering who the new empress is."

"..."

"Alexis? Something wrong?"

"N-nothing. It's just my dumb insecurities." I played off my doubts with a smile.

"...Don't sweat it. You'll do fine, promise."

Why I felt comforted by his words, I don't know.

Why I wanted to hold is hand, I don't know.

Why my heart was thumping, I don't know.

Why I felt so comfortable yet so shy around him, I don't know.

All I know is that I felt something.

"So...Uh...They'll be arriving in ten minutes." Snow said awkwardly as he sat next to me on the bed.

"They'll?"

"The others. Obvliate kings."

I had mixed feelings, still unable to fully accept being a bona fide obvliate.

That's like telling a cow that it was human all along.

And that the cow was actually a human raised like a cow and could produce milk and my allegory is falling apart so I'm going to stop here.

I was sitting cross legged when felt a little warmth on my calf and looked down only to see four marks glowing.

One of a heart with an arrow shot through it, another of a winged bow with an arrow.

The other two were of a dove and the last one was the symbol for Venus, a circle with a small cross below it.

Why was I feeling so hot?

My face was flushed, my body on fire.

I let out a groan of discomfort.

"Alexis? Are you okay?"

I felt faint,"My...Body's...It feels so hot..." I couldn't think straight-My mind in delirium as all I cared about was getting rid of the hotness.

His hand pressed against mine and I found it refreshingly cold.

I leaned against him,"A-Alexis?!"

It felt comfy, the hotness dissipating almost immediately as a soothing coolness took over.

He tried to move,"Don't move...Just let me stay like this..."

"O-okay..."

Snow's POV.

My arm felt like it was in contact with a fluffy pillow of warmth, my mind slowly relaxing.

I liked Alexis-No doubt.

But what was it about her, that I liked?

I couldn't figure out.

It was like there was something about here that only I could see.

Maybe she's my...

No way.
