I Won't Let You Down

Alexis' POV.

I opened my eyes, a vast blue expanse hanging above me, grass as green as emerald swaying quietly in the soothing wind.

"Where am I?" I found myself in a wooden chair-I could move but I couldn't bring myself to get up.

Child.

"Who's there?" I called out.

I felt calm, unalarmed.

No sense of danger enveloped me.

You've been working hard.

"..." I wanted to say something but my words were caught in my throat.

The wind brought petals blowing towards me, forming an elderly man.

He was the definition of a loving grandpa.

Scraggly beard, weathered but warm eyes, greyish-black hair and a reassuring smile that would make anyone feel better.

"You are..."

"I was chatting with Moirai one day." He kneeled down to smell the flowers,"He told me of a girl."

"..."

"This girl. She was fated to die."

"This girl, she would be driven to death by her parents, her lover-This world."

"But this girl was different. No matter how hard Moirai looked. There was never a possible happy ending. She would always die."

"Do you know who I am, Alexis?"

A chill went down my spine,"Typhon?"

He smiled, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

"Do you know, back in the day, they called me the Father of Monsters. I am the one who caused the gene mutation. I was angered by the injustice the humans had caused. Yet, Prometheus stole my work and gave it to the humans. He gave an unfinished copy, however and paid dearly for doing so."

"But that's beside the point. When I heard of your destiny, I felt resonance."

"Do you know how humans become gods?"

"They transcend the mortal coil. There are only two ways. Be born as such. Or die a tragic fate."

"I was born into a wealthy family. I had everything given to me on a silver platter. Officials bowing before me, men respecting me, women eyeing me. They called me a god among men."

"When that car struck you, you were fated to die. Yet, Chaos saved you by instilling a potent power within your mother, Amaterasu aiding him-Marking her."

"Osiris took you from the river of the dead and Vayu breathed new life into you."

"You were supposed to be reborn into a poor family, fated to die from starvation after being abandoned by your mother. Venus saved your life once more and Lakshmi, goddess of good fortune and beauty brought you to a family that loved you and laid a blessing upon you to bring good fortune."

"You were fated to fall for Harry Skyler and marry. Yet, your fate used up her blessing rapidly and Harry Skyler would kill you in a fit of rage months after consummating."
