Maddox's POV.

"DAMN IT ALL!" I roared to the skies, my body drenched in blood.

The question of whose blood, I didn't know.

I was bleeding from overusing my powers as I saw the world collapsing before me.

Hundreds of thousands of beasts were invading the sanctuary after every single other sanctuary was run down in a collective stampede of over 300,000 Obvliates.

"I can't hold on much longer..." Horndale coughed up crimson liquid from, his body bent like a bow as he prepared to throw another bomb at the Obvliates.

"I'll can hold!" Jeremiah shouts at me.

His power's Adamantine Chains, allowing him to hold any single entity in place for a second at minimum.

Thousands of elementalists-People with element related abilities, and people tens of thousands with normal abilities were joined together in a combined effort to fight back against the horde.

It was a true nightmare as we saw the beasts rampaging in.

The moment they passed us, behind us would be the sanctuary walls.

Even the divinium couldn't restrict this many beasts completely.

This was humanity's final hope.

If the sanctuary Beast Slayer Alexis Niko had fell, it would cause a steep drop in morale, a horrible thing which could cause the collapse of humanity.

"Fight on! Fight on! Fight on!" I hear the protectors screaming their hearts out as they wield abilities of all sorts to battle against these foul beasts.

They're afraid.

I can see it.

My mind steels itself for another barrage of shots.

Missiles float into the air at my control and I reign down, causing multiple deaths on both sides, but mostly to the Obvliates.

"HOLD THEM BACK! IF WE FAIL HERE WE WILL BRING THE WHOLE OF HUMANITY WITH US!" I hear general Horndale roar to the masses.

"UOHHHHHH!"

If moralw drops, we're doomed so I know what Horndale's doing.

We're on borrowed time.

I pop another pill, my resolve the only thing keeping me conscious at this point.

My power replenishes but I feel a drilling pain in every portion of my body as I bleed out faster than before.

"FUCKKKK!" I screamed as I shot another volley at the seemingly never-ending horde.

Obvliates are dying off left and right but so are humans.

It's complete mayhem.

And for the first time, I felt despair.

Like never before.

Is this...

Is this how humanity ends?

I turn for a moment and look at the queen at the sanctuary walls, her face pale with worry.
