Alexis' POV.

My knees buckled, giving way as I flopped lifelessly on the floor, the rain masking the tears that streamed down my face.

What happened?

How did it get to this point?

"It's raining heavily miss. Perhaps you should get indoors."

A cool voice called out to me.

I could hear him clearly despite the heavy downpour happening..

"..."

"Are you perhaps in distress?" He asked cooly.

I felt something in me crack.

I lost something in me, a piece of me that I held on to so dearly-Lost.

"Why does everyone betray me?"

"..."

"I've done nothing to them. Yet, they keep on turning their backs on me. Am I that unlikable?"

"...Humans are deceptive creatures. They are vile creatures that should never be trusted." He answered softly.

"Yeah. You're right." I let out a hollow chuckle,"They should all just die."

"Join us then."

I turned to the man.

He had short combed hair, devilish red eyes and a confident grin, one arm extended in my direction.

"You?" I laughed,"How can I be sure that you aren't going to betray me like everyone else?"

"We are of the same race." He pulled up his sleeve, a symbol of a white horse, upon which a man with a bow sat on,"I am a true god, just like you."

"True...God?"

He chuckled, kneeling down and holding my hand up.

As his thumb brushed over my wrist, a black symbol appeared.

"This is your truest form. Your innermost, truest self. Why suppress it?"

Embrace it.

"You know exactly who you are."

"I..." He pulled me up.

"We have been awaiting your arrival. The day you take over your father's legacy."

I felt something inside me resonate with his words, my heart thumping.

"You are not a human."

"That's a good thing."

"It's okay that you're a monster."

"Aren't we all?"

For the first time I felt...

I felt...

Free.

No longer chained down by my self-restraint.

"Yes...Embrace it. Do you feel it? That power? That raw, unbridled strength coursing through you. Filling every ounce of your being."

"Close your eyes. Do you hear your name?"

I nodded as I was led on by his dulcet voice, hypnotising me.

"Say it. And be reborn anew."

The power within me felt like overflowing, reaching a peak within me as it resonated with my very soul, my eyes opening as I saw the world clearer than ever.

"You are not human."

"I am not human."

"You are an obvliate."
