Maddox's POV.

Just as I was about to use the last of my strength, a figure clad in red jumped from atop a building, numerous red balls rotating around him.

"Boom." He said as the balls ignited with a blinding light.

The beasts were blindsided and he seemingly summoned a sword out of nowhere, rushing in a slashing at the beasts, killing them so effortlessly as if he were eating breakfast.

I fall to my knees in relief.

They would be safe now.

"Hyup!" He shouted numerous lights appeared out of nowhere and exploded once more, causing several beasts to explode and die while the rest were severely injured and finished off by that ruby-like sword.

"Hey," I see him pull out a small packet with several pills inside.

He makes me swallow one and my power returns.

"You're that guy that danced with Alexis Niko right?"

"...Yeah." I nodded never thinking that I'd be recognised as 'that guy that danced with someone' instead of me myself in my entire life.

"What's your power?"

"I'm sorry?"

"That metal thing. What does it allow you to do?"

"I can manipulate metal to my will and hold it in place but it drains my mental and physical energy rapidly."

"You interested in joining Alexis Niko's faction?"

"I'm sorry what?"

"Alexis wants to build a city that will act as the focal point of humanity where people can trade, recruit and be protected from beasts."

I frowned,"What's in it for me?"

"She can help you expand on your power. I didn't get this good overnight y'know?"

I nodded, the man seemed to be quite relaxed even while fighting and I had wondered where he had received his training.

"And this armour is good stuff." He taps on his red armour, a dull thud sounds.

"It amplifies my power and enhances reflexes, speed and strength and~" He pushes on his thumb and-

The suit sinks back into that small area on the left side of his index finger, leaving him in casual clothing,"Stuff's comfy as heck. I'm basically just wearing an all-purpose suit. And the sword's the same."

"How will she accomplish it?" I asked,"Don't get me wrong, I understand what she's doing but how? And why?"

"It's all just for profit. We have a monopoly over a material that can nullify abilities like ours, making it a safe haven for humans. If we can somehow make this a thriving market, it would make us virtually the richest and most influential people. And-"

"It would mean that we would have numerous backups if anything happened."

I bobbed my head in appreciation,"That's a good plan. But again, how're we going to do this?"

"We're gonna go around rescuing people and spreading the word. The place can hold eighty thousand max and we're setting up a barter trade system. Each item is itemised and has a numerical value. You can then use said value to go buy other stuff."

"What's in it for me other than that?"

"Well from what I can tell, it's split into three parts if you join. Demigods, Normals and Artisans. Demigods-Ie people with abilities will be either in charge of going out and rescuing people or finding and gathering date. Normals will be sent to man restaurants, shops and other facilities and Artisans with high ability geared towards crafting will be in charge of designing and making weapons and armour, renovating buildings and expansion of territory."
