Evan couldn't believe what he had just done, but it felt good.

He liked knowing that he had control over someone else's pain. Usually, it was the other way around. But, not this time. No, this time, he was the one in control.

He got to choose how Jared was hurt. He got to choose when Jared was hurt. He got to choose how much Jared was hurt. He could force Jared into a horrible mental state if he wanted.

Evan knew he was Jared's only friend, and he knew Jared cared about him way more than he should. And he used that to his advantage. He hurt his best friend.

Now, Evan knows about Jared's suicidal thoughts and that he's acted upon them from time to time, but he didn't think it'd be a big deal. Then again, he didn't think much about his actions once the satisfaction came.

The only thing running through Evans head was the rush of power.

Well, it was until he got the phone call.

/-/-/-/

Jared couldn't breathe.

His screams died down to nothing, and soon enough he couldn't even talk. His shakes got worse and worse until it physically hurt to even shift his body in the slightest. His cries and sobs were reduced to small whimpers.

Jared was broken; Mentally and emotionally.

He was broken.

It didn't surprise Jared when he stood up, stumbling over his own two feet, and walked towards his bathroom. It didn't surprise Jared when he stopped in front of the mirror. It didn't surprise Jared when he stared at his reflection, thinking about how horrible he looked. It didn't surprise Jared when he reached towards the medicine cabinet, the one with his antidepressants. It didn't surprise Jared when he hastily opened the bottle and dumped over half of it into his hands. It didn't surprise Jared when he brought the pills to his mouth. It didn't surprise Jared when he forced the pills down his throat, swallowing them dry.

But what did surprise him, was when his mother got home, shouting for him. He was shocked when he heard his mothers screams of agony after seeing her sons soon to be deceased body.

Jared's mother called the cops, explaining what she saw upon walking into her house.

After the ambulance came to pick up her son, she called his only known friend, Evan Hansen.
