It's been a month since the silent dinner with Scarlett and you two have still not kept in touch, surprisingly she let you keep your space and hardly text you, she might have made it seem easy but deep down it was killing her she just wanted to hug you again and to actually hear your voice again not just having to hear it when your answering anyone but her.
I mean it was killing you as well but Scarlett was the one that started all this she she felt even worse, this month didn't feel like a month to her, it might sound a bit dramatic but it felt like years.
She's lost all this time she could be spending with you making memories with you. But no. She just had to go and make the shittiest decision of her life so far. God Scarlett why are you so stupid?!
She wished she could be dancing with you on the dance floor right now like you used to do at parties or previous weddings. But no. She was watching from afar you sat on the Stranger Things cast table with Sadie Sink trying to get you up on the dance floor.
Scarlett smiled at you covering your face with embarrassment as Sadie was joined by Winona and Milly trying to get you up to dance whilst singing the lyrics to the song to you but you couldn't but smile at their craziness.
You finally gave in knowing the wouldn't stop before you got up and dance, Sadie and Milly high fived each other in celebration but also as you dragged Noah along with you. "If I'm doing this sober then I'm not doing this alone." you laughed as you dragged a reluctant Noah onto the dance floor with Winona, Sadie and Milly, dancing with all of them.
Scarlett watched you laugh and smile as Milly and Sadie grabbed your hands spinning the three of you round in a circle, and then Winona took your hand to stop you from falling over from dizziness as she danced with you slowly to regain your consciousness both of you non-stop smiling as Winona danced with round the floor.
Scarlett watched you slowly forget about the possibility of people watching as Noah took you by the waist gently bringing you inclose swaying with you side to side as the DJ welcomed all the couples onto the floor halfway through David and his wife's first dance.
"Shall we ma'lady!" Colin held out his hand for Scarlett as they came onto the dance floor similar position as you and Noah, dancing near you two to the rest of the slow song. Scarlett rested her head on Colin's shoulder so she could see you in the corner of her eye. You and Noah hadn't noticed they were near to distracted by holding each other dancing and swaying to the song looking deeply into each other's eyes whilst your foreheads rested together (i know i'm a cliche!)
Then THE song came on. (the song you should be listening to) The slowish song you and Scarlett always requested at weddings or parties so you could dance with each other. I mean you guys had a lot of songs but when this sing came on you only danced with each other, if Scarlett was at a wedding and you weren't there and this song came on and Colin offered her to dance with him she would turn him down as she only danced with you to this song, same goes for you.
"Go and ask her it's your song after all." Noah whispers to you.
"Go and ask her it can't hurt." Colin whispered to Scarlett as he went to go and get Rose to dance with her along with Noah.
"Hi." Scarlett smiled hopefully at you.
"Hi." A wave of relief went through Scarlett when she heard you answer.
"You wanna dance?" She holds out her hand and you take it by Scarlett's surprise.
You both sway to the song, keeping a slight distance and the silence between the two of you and one hand free. Colin and Noah dance with Rose keeping her busy and entertained but also watching you both hoping you'd make up.
As the song continued you felt more and more confident and Scarlett grew less and less patient just wanting to hug you but wanting to let you take your time. And she did the right thing as something good came to her as you took her other hand and swayed closer to her with a small smile on your face still looking down at the floor not bearing to look at her.
"Cause it's you and me. And all of the people with nothing to do." You and Scarlett mouthed the words, Scarlett suddenly realising you were getting closer, then you wrapping your arms round her waist, resting your head on her shoulder still swaying to the music.
Scarlett placed a hand to the back of your head bringing you in closer taking in all your warmth and your familiar scent missing you so much trying to maker the most of it because god knows whether this meant you forgave her or not. Scarlett wanted to say something but she didn't want to risk it, this was this closest she got to you in ages, the first time she'd hugged you. She wasn't going to ruin it.
But she couldn't hold it in any longer. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." Scarlett's voice shook as she mumbled into your hair placing a kiss on the top of your head.
You wrap your arms round her neck. "I love you."
Scarlett didn't say anything else but hold you closer, resulting in your hair getting in the way of her face as you unwrapped an arm from Scarlett neck to use your hand to remove the hair Scarlett gently grabbed your hand and held it closer to her missing the feeling of holding your warm hands, tucking your hair behind your ear, moving some of it to the other side of your neck as she wrapped her arm back round your waist letting the music take control of her movements again, enjoying the close time she had with you.
