I start getting changed into my uniform, getting lost in my thoughts. Until I get a text from my brother, it's a picture of my nephew on the swings. That kid never fails to put a smile on my face, when I'm around him not an ounce of sadness is in my body. I heard something fall to the ground, it startled me and I dropped my necklace on the ground before I had the chance to put it on, Buck quickly picked up his phone.

"you scared the shit out of me." He quickly apologizes.

"It's my fault, should have said something."

"Whatever," I respond, I can tell he's trying to be nice but I don't buy it.

I put my hair in a low bun and stuff my phone into my locker, trying to get out there as fast as I can and almost accidentally bumping Into hen. "Oops, my bad."

"She doesn't like me very much, does she? Buck asks Hen, trying to be funny. He regrets all of those nasty things he had said to her, wanting to apologize but he knows that she wouldn't forgive so easily.

"Welcome back." Hen tells Buckley while giving him a "welcome back" cupcake, it's the thought that counts. "You are the first person to say that to me. Starting to feel like I should have brought a sweater, cause I'm definitely catching a chill." The grin on his face says otherwise.

"You got friends here buck, but they all feel like they gotta follow caps except, you know who. She has a mind of her own, ain't no one telling her what to do except on calls of course."

"I missed you guys, hey, how is the, uh, baby-making going? You and Karen knocked up yet?"He asks Hen, then the smile disappears on her face. She tries her best to always be positive but sometimes it's hard to keep smiling. "Mm, it's a long process, it's more twists and turns than you might expect, it's good to have you back." Hen puts her hand on Buckley's back to reassure the kid.

"Welcome back firefighter Buckley." Chim gives him a nice and firm handshake. We were all standing in a circle, I'd never been in this much of an awkward position before, Eddie looked a bit roughed up, tired, and had a huge bruise on his elbow. "Thanks, Chim, glad to be back."

"Now that we've gotten that outta the way, morning briefing." The bell cuts him off before he can finish his sentence, "Buck, you're the man behind today, my house, my rules, you stay put." The rest of us go quickly to put on our jackets and grab our helmets then get on the truck to drive to the scene.

I hate working on Halloween, and crazy calls, this is the day where people go absolutely mad. Everyone got a good night's rest to be prepared for this day, I just hope the calls aren't too crazy. My nephew asked me to go trick or treating with him and my brothers, I didn't want to give his hopes up so I said I'll see what I can do.

While Eddie spotting me on the weights, Bobby is going over bucks task. Giving out candy, "Everything in the teal bucket is nut-free, dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free, and gluten-free." The table is set up with candy apples, candy, and who would have guessed... Smoke alarms. "who are these for? Kids allergic to fun?" He holds the smoke alarms and chimney almost bursts out laughing.
