It's like seeing a new side of buck, we always spend the majority of the time arguing. Now it was spending time together and getting to know one another. "Photography? I would have expected you to do some type of sport or like art. I guess it makes sense now, you are very creative, but why go from the army to being a firefighter?" I always knew Buck was curious but this is on a way different level.

"I just wanted to be closer to family and it's an interesting job, we see different and strange calls every single day. The risk may be the same but I like helping people even though I'm not a "people" person. You're the opposite, you like socializing and almost everyone likes you, I can't do that."

"Yes you can, you just don't like having a conversation with someone, You don't like talking about yourself." He's right, which I hate, "yeah cause it comes with a long rant of opinions which I don't need, I live with 3 boys who are very opinionated and love to criticize me, and I deal with that every single day. Which is weird because basically, we're the same person in 4 different fonts. See? If I talk, I rant which is a big, no." I take a sip of my water and he takes a good look at me. "What?"

"You rant when you're nervous, do I make you nervous?" I really do hate when he smiles, it makes me blush. "No..... okay, a little bit. It's been three years since I went out on a proper date, I feel old and I'm still in my early twenties." He laughs which calms me down. "You're doing completely fine, Now I can brag that I make you nervous." Oh my god, someone needs to shut me up right now. "You do that and I will glue your mouth shut, it's crazy how we went from arguing all the time to being on a date. I would have never expected that, you are a changed man, isn't that right buck 3.0?" Teasing him has always been fun to me.

"I'd knew it catch on. I honestly want to know why you don't like celebrating your birthday, I know you're not much of a party person but it's about you, you know." As Buck is eating I begin to explain my story, he loves deep conversations but I like short and bare minimum stories. "Not really when your quadruplet, my brothers go clubbing and get drunk in my mother's honor. I don't, I stay home and catch up on sleep." He looks at me if I'm being serious. "Wait really? How long has that been going on for?"

"My whole life, before the age of 12 I was in Mexico. I didn't grow up with money, buck, my father was working nine to five struggling to make ends meet. While my mom was taking care of my brothers and I, that's the only thing I was grateful for coming from him. Came here when I was 12, so I guess you could say I never had an actual birthday party, it was the least of my concerns." His mood changed, and the smile he once had disappeared, "sorry I shouldn't have said that, I'm going to shut up now." I say, I couldn't manage to look him in the eyes afterward, it's either I talk too much or don't say anything. He holds my hand and I look up at him in confusion. "If anything, I enjoy hearing you talking about yourself, you don't do it that much. It's not us arguing which is different for a change. I have one more place to take you."

He pays for our dinner and drives us to a lantern festival. I couldn't have thought this man could get any more adorable, his light up at the sight of   People around us, Having a good time, we begin to customize our own lantern and of course, he takes the lead in drawing. "Don't hold back now." He winks and I laugh, he hands me the marker and I draw a big heart with our initials. "Wait one more thing." He tries to draw, squeaky the baby dragon on the side. "How cute." He uses a match to lip the lantern, and as soon it's lit up, he waits a bit so it can fill up with air and it floats away.
