On the Run - 🔞

On the run with nowhere to go or hide, Sasuke must decide what's most important to him; his family and his pack or his fated human mate.

A sasusaku snippet. Of course, another werewolf fic. I can't deny I write way too many of these, but what can I say— It's my favorite genre. 18+ content. Very ooc and not how I'd normally portray his family or some of the characters, but it's just the story that came to mind. UNEDITED.

Itachi came to stand next to him, gazing out at the horizon's rapidly setting sun with his hands placed firmly behind his back. They didn't bother looking at each other, merely stood there side by side in each other's presence before his brother finally broke the growing silence. "Mother doesn't approve."

Sasuke wanted to laugh at the irony of his situation, but instead only huffed in annoyance. "I don't care."

"Father says we'll be the laughing stock of the clan. He worries that they will want another family to take over as the alpha." His brother stood there neutrally as his powerful arms raised to cross over his chest; the darkness in his eyes never once wavering from the forest in front of them. Sasuke remained aloof; calm on the exterior while silently contemplating his next move.

His father's words echoed in his mind from the night before when he thought no one but his chosen mate was listening; when he'd been eavesdropping. 'Who would have guessed, my fucking bastard son has a filthy human for a mate.' His Mother had responded in kind, equally disgusted and shocking Sasuke with her harshness. 'The little slut is far too timid to be a proper Luna, dear. She is puny, pathetic, and weak. She'd never survive on our lands, let alone be able to withstand the mating of an alpha male. We must do something about this, Fugaku dear. We cannot let Sasuke be tempted to stray by her. We must find a suitable she-wolf. One who will be able to bear as many pups as our son wishes to fill her up with, and one who can take the punishment of an alpha male in heat. She'll need to be able to defend her title at any given time and be the crutch to all that are led astray.' His father had scoffed in disgust. 'Mate, I've tried throwing many suitable bitches at his feet. Hell, I've even gone so far as to offer payment to a few of them if they managed to satisfy him, but to no avail. He's as stubborn as a jackass, and lord only knows where he gets that from.' His father took a small sip of his wine before making a grunting sound from the back of his throat. His Mother's eyes suddenly lit up with excitement before she exclaimed, 'Maybe if we allow him to have this human...thing as his mistress he'll agree to allow us to pick a suitable match for his Luna. I have a few she-wolves in mind already!'

'Have you contacted them yet, Mikoto?'

'No... but I'll do that first thing in the morning...,' his mother said excitedly as she clasped her hands in front of her. 'I'm sure they'll be eager. Several have already shared their interest in him.'

'Purity of the she-wolf doesn't matter as long as the bloodline remains untainted—'

He couldn't listen to any more of their nonsense and left as quietly as he'd come. He shouldn't care what his parents think. He really shouldn't.

But for some reason, he did.

He's always secretly wanted their approval. But now that he's gone and done something yet again to just be another disappointment to them... Sasuke felt his heart breaking. 'Why would the moon goddess have paired me with a human? Yeah, she's beautiful and sweet and selfless and— How in the hell could she possibly be Luna material when she knows nothing of our kind?' Besides the basics— as most humans are taught at a young age, she was clueless. She'd need to be taught by another Luna the ways of their kind, and of course his Mother wouldn't be willing to do it. So then, who would? And would that even be enough for his parents? Probably not.
