I look over at my phone. It's 10:00am. I have three unread messages from Mattia. I can't remember the last time he texted me off this number

Mattia 💛: Hey Dawn

Mattia💛: I don't know if your still sleeping so I'm not gonna call you rn

Mattia💛: but the party's gonna be at 7:00pm. I'll send you my address later.

I text him back with : 'Thanks, Mattia' and head downstairs for breakfast. Mom's awake which is shocking. She usually wakes up after 12:00pm.

"Hey ma" I say as I walk over to to the fridge.

"Morning, D" she sips from her coffee.

"Ma my friend is having a party later and i was wondering if I could go?"

She raises her eyebrows. "And who's this friend ?"

I roll my eyes playfully. "Remember,Mattia?"

She winces "Hmm i dont know, Dawn"

I make a puppy dog face. "Pleaaasse"

She nods and I run up to her and give her a hug. "Thank you thank you I love you"

She laughs and I pour myself a bowl of cereal before heading back up to my room.
