Rising Tensions

We reached the crime scene, which happened to be in the middle of a road... in the middle of the forest. Not creepy at all. I leaned against the hood of the impala next to Sam as Dean stood in front of me, facing me. I huffed out in annoyance as I watch John and my brother talk to the police.

"I don't see why we couldn't have gone over there," Sam said, sharing an irritated look with Dean and me.

I turned my gaze back to the two other men and noticed them making their way back to us.

"Oh, don't tell me it's already starting," Dean complained.

"Oh, it has, and John's found his new buddy to tag along," I stated bitterly.

Sam looked at us in confusion and asked, "What's starting?"

Before we could answer, John and Ryan were at our side, and the three of us just looked at them expectantly. Unfortunately for us, they didn't pick that up.

"So.... what did you get," Dean drawled out.

John looked at us and explained, "It was them all right. It looks like they are heading west. We'll have to double back to get around that detour."

Sam stood up and asked, "how can you be so sure?" Dean looked at Sam and tried to stop him, both of us knowing it was useless to fight with John, especially when he was bound and determined. "I just want to know that we are going in the right direction," Sam shot back.

I brought my hand up to my face and let out a sigh as John looked at his son in irritation. This was useless. We might as well just humor the man. He's good at what he does, so he's probably right... like always.

"We are." John deadpanned.

Sam fought back and asked, "How do you know?"

Ryan grabbed something from his pocket and said, "We found this."

I quickly ripped whatever it was from his hand and examined it in confusion, "It's a fang?"

"A vampire's tooth. The second set of teeth come out when they attack," John explained.

I looked up at the older man and asked in confusion, "They have two sets of fangs?"

"That's not important," Ryan snapped.

I glared at my brother, and I retorted, "I think it is. Don't you think I should know everything there is to know about vampires? You know, since we are hunting them."

"Enough!" John scolded as he starred Sam and me down as he asked, irritated, "Any more questions?"

I glared at him as Sam answered, "No."

John nodded and said, "All right, let's get out of here. We are losing daylight. And Dean, why don't you touch up the car, so it doesn't rust. I wouldn't have given you the damn thing if I knew you were gonna ruin it."

I looked at the man in shock and irritation as he got in his car and drove away with my brother.

As we followed John down the road, Dean grabbed John's journal in search of information on vampires. I let out a loud huff of irritation.

"Vampires nest in groups of eight to ten. Smaller packs are sent out to hunt for food. Victims are taken to the nest, where they keep them alive, bleeding them for days or weeks," Dean said as he found a page with information on it.

I shivered at the thought. I've suffered through severe blood loss before, and it is not fun.

"I wonder if that id what happened to the couple," I wondered out loud.
