Hey Sammy!

"Dean, are you serious! Why can't we walk in and knock like normal people," I asked Dean as he explained what he was about to do.

"Because we aren't normal people," Dean retorted with his usual amount of sarcasm.

Rolling my eyes, I watch my best friend break into his brother's apartment. As we entered, Dean looked back at me and signaled for me to be quiet. Again I rolled my eyes. I don't know why Dean can be such a child sometimes. We could've easily knocked, but no, we had to sneak in and scare the crap out of good ole Sammy. As much as I hate this, I am kind of curious as to how this whole thing will go down.

Dean being the ass he is, went up to the kitchen table and purposely bumped into a chair. I heard a rustling come from the bedroom. Knowing that Sam was awake, I quickly made my way to Dean. I know I wasn't entirely on board with this "plan," but it was kind of fun sneaking around with him to freak out his brother.

We both spotted Sam exiting his room, and Dean walked across the hall so Sam would see him. I stayed where I was so I could see the action. Sam slowly made his way down the hall and turned into the room about to attack Dean, but Dean was too fast for him. Both got a few hits in while I just stood in the doorway and watched as Dean took down the youngest Winchester.

"Dean?" Sam said, out of breath.

"Hey Sammy," I said from my spot at the doorway with a massive smile on my face, slightly amused.

Sam looked up to me with a confused look on his face, "Devyn? You guys scared the crap out of me."

"That's because your out of practice," Dean replied with a smug look on his face.

Sam smirked and flipped Dean over, taking over the advantage. Dean smirked from his spot on the ground and said, "Or not."

Sam helped his brother up and asked, "What the hell are you guys doing here?"

The conversation was cut short as the light turned on, and a girl walked in. I looked across the room with wide eyes at the beautiful girl. Damn Sammy! I didn't think he had it in him to be with a girl like that.

"Jess! Dean, Devyn, this is my girlfriend Jessica," Sam introduced her.

Jessica's face lit up with recognition, "Wait, you brother Dean and his girlfriend Devyn?"

If I were drinking water, I would've to spit it out. What the hell has Sam been telling this girl. Dean and I shared equally shocked and confused glances. Well, this got awkward really fast. I glanced over at the two brothers and couldn't help but notice the smirk that made its way onto Dean's face.

Clearing my throat, I responded awkwardly, feeling my cheeks heat up from embarrassment, "Um.. no, we aren't together. Just friends. Um, Sam, can we talk with you for a moment."

"Yeah, sure, what's up," Sam said, walking over to his girlfriend. I looked at Jessica then back to Sam, signaling we should talk in private. "Whatever you have to say, you can say in front of her," Sam said.

Dean was obviously fed up with his brother, so he said, "Alright. Dad's on a hunting trip, and he hasn't been home in a few days."

Sam's entire demeanor changed after hearing this, and I couldn't help but notice the glance he quickly sent my way before sending Jessica back to their room.

After spending ten minutes convincing Sam to help find John, he finally agreed to go with him. We then spent another five catching him up on where we think he is and what he possibly would be hunting, and I swear to God if he says, "I have to be back by Monday," one more time, I'm gonna blow my brains out.

The drive to Jericho, California, was a long one, especially with Sam and Dean pretty much bickering the entire time. I tried to nap in the back of the Impala, but they wouldn't shut up, so I opted to hum to the music.

"Alright, so there is no one matching dad in the hospital or the morgue. So that's good, I guess, " Sam stated, interrupting my humming.

Before either Dean or I could respond, I noticed a crime scene to the right, probably the one we were supposed to be investigating.

"Check it out," I pointed it out to the boys.

Dean pulled the car over, and we went to grab our fake government IDs, which earned us a scoff from Sam, but he grabbed one as well.

We made our way to the car that seemed to be abandoned on the bridge where the police officers were.

"It's almost too clean," I heard one of them say while the other one noticed us approaching.

"Fellas had another one just like this one last month, didn't you?" Dean started the investigation.

"Who are you?" the closest officer asked rudely, earning an eye roll from me.

I flashed my fake badge, as well as Sam and Dean, as I said, "Federal Marshals."

The officer looked at us individually before noticing, "You three are a little young to be Federal Marshall's, aren't you?"

Dean laughed while smirking, "Ha, thanks, that's awfully kind of you."

I started to make my way around the car, taking in all the details as I asked, "You did have another one just like this, though, right?"

Finally believing the façade, the officer said, "That's right. About a mile up the road."

"So this victim, you knew him?" Sam asked, speaking for the first time since showing up. The officer nodded, sadness filling his eyes.

Before I could say anything, Dean stepped in, "Any connection between all of these victims. Besides that, they are all men?"

"Nope, none, not as far as we can tell," The officer explained.

"So what's the theory?" Sam asked, trying to get more information out of the man. He's really good at this. It's almost like he never stopped hunting. It makes me wonder how my brother is doing.

"We don't know," the officer stated.

I let out a deep breath before smiling at the officer, "Well, thank you for your time." I then grabbed the two boys by their arms, walking away from the scene.

After more bickering, we finally made it into town and found the girlfriend of the boy who went missing. We were now sitting in a diner, as she told us everything that she knew about the events that lead to her boyfriend's disappearance.

"I was on the phone with Troy. He said he was on his way home and that he would call me right back, and he never did," Amy explained.

"He didn't say anything strange or anything out of the ordinary?" Sam asked in a calm voice.

"No, nothing I can remember," She said, clearly upset.

"Listen here's ladies, someone disappeared. Something's not right, so if you've heard anything, we need to know," Dean said.

The two girls in front of us shared a look like they clearly knew something, "What is it?" I asked impatiently. Sam elbowed me and gave me a warning glare. Man, I hate to say this, but things are so much easier when it's just Dean and me. I don't ever remember Sam being like this before.

"There's this local legend," Amy's friend started, "this one girl, she got murdered out on Centennial, like decades ago. Well, supposedly, she's still out there. She hitchhikes, and whoever picks her up, they disappear forever."

We all shared the same look, knowing this is something more than what it seems. This hitchhiking ghost is real, and we need to stop her before someone else goes missing.
