"Afternoon. It's Frankenstein calling."

"What?"

"You said that you created a monster, so this is him calling."

"Except for the fact that Frankenstein was the doctor who created the monster and not the monster himself. Therefore, if anyone is Frankenstein, that would be me."

"In other news... I've been banned from Pinterest."

"I'm not even going to ask."

"Your mother took my phone off me and deleted the app, Sophie."

"Ok."

"She said that I spent too much of our meeting today on my phone."

"Sounds about right."

"I tried explaining what I was doing but she just started shaking her head at me and muttering in French."

"She does that."

"And then she took my phone."

"Mhm."

"You're taking Camille's side, aren't you?"

"Am I?"

"She deleted the app, Sophie!"

"Did the world end?"

"What?"

"When my mum deleted your Pinterest app, did the world end?"

"No."

"Then what's the problem?"

"I'm not explaining it to you. You won't understand."

"Other than my mum being mean and confiscating your phone, how did your meeting go?"

"It was... illuminating."

"In what way?"

"Have you heard what Samuel's gone and done?"

"Wait a second- Jasmine! Come in here, please!-"

<<Yeah, boss?>>

"-Are you engaged?-"

<<No.>>

"-Are you pregnant?-"

<<No. Wait, you think I look pregnant?>>

"-God, no! You're a walking stick. Are you leaving me?"

<<What is this about?>>

"-Nothing, never mind.- Ok, what's Sam gone and done? I know he hasn't proposed, got Jasmine knocked up nor has he asked her to move to England. Wait! He hasn't gotten someone else pregnant has he?"

"No, he hasn't."

"Then what's he done?"

"He's enrolled in the History of Art course at Goldsmith University."

"What?"

"He did the first two years straight out of Eton, but then he quit. Now he wants to go back and complete his degree."

"That's great! Aren't you happy?"

"I am."

"You don't sound it."

"No, I am! Really. I'm just in shock, that's all. He's never shown an interest in going back to complete it before but now he's pretty gung-ho about it all. He's actually excited."

"Hey, don't knock it."

"I'm not. I think I'm still in shock, that's all."

"Just remember to support him through it all, ok?"

"I've always supported him, even when he didn't give me a reason to."

"What brought this on then?"

"Not sure. He simply blurted it out this afternoon at the meeting. I honestly thought my grandmother was going to have a heart attack!"

"She's happy with it, though, right?"

"Yeah, she is. She just got blindsided with the news, that's all."

"Huh. Well, I'll give him a call now to congratulate him."

"Now?"

"No time like the present."

"But we're talking on the phone."

"Yeah, it's ok. I can hang up on you and then call him."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Babe, you still there?"

"Yes."

"You ok?"

"Yes."

"That's a 'no' kind of yes, isn't it?"

"No."

"And that's a 'yes' kind of no."

"Sophie-"

"Oh, shit! No, no, no... I didn't mean it like that, I swear!"

"I never said it was like that."

"No, but that's how you thought it was."

"But it's not that way, so... It's ok."

"Daniel-"

"Soph, I know. It's ok, I promise. You were joking."

"Even then, I am so sorry."

"Stop beating yourself up about it, babe."

"But-"

"Listen to me, Clément. Do. Not. Worry. About. It."

"But-"

"Please, stop apologising. Call Samuel and tell him congratulations. Anyway, I need to get off this call so I can re-download Pinterest onto my phone."

"Babe?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too, Sophie."

"And you're the only one I love. No one else but you."

"You're just saying that because you want me to tell you again that I love you, huh?"

"Ha bloody ha."

"I love you!"

"I know."
