Requests are now closed. I have three left, I don't know when I will have them up. Enjoy.

You had been friends with Jonathan since university, you had both been studying in the same field. You and Jonathan were opposites, he was quiet, analytical and had this terrifying energy whenever he was silent. You were bright, bubbly, and sweet. You both had this strong intellect. You worked for the Gotham Police force as an analyst to help find criminals. Whereas Jonathan became a psychiatrist, eventually becoming Head Psychiatrist at the Arkham Asylum. You and Jonathan had slowly lost touch, it was mistake you regretted to some extent. You had fallen for the striking blue eyes and the intellect he held.

Years later you were sat opposites sides of the court room, you were trying to get a hit man for the mob where you were trying to get him into prison, Crane were trying to get him committed to Arkham. "Miss L/N." The defence attorney started, before you interrupted. "Doctor. It's Doctor actually." You corrected him. Jonathan hid a smirk. "My apologises, Doctor L/N. What is your professional opinion, about the crimes this man has committed and his mental state?"

"It is my opinion, that this man is clinically sane and should therefore be held accountable for his crimes. He was of sane mind, when he committed these crimes. He made these decisions to carry out his actions, he knew the consequences of his actions and yet he committed these crimes anyway." Jonathan's face stayed neutral but his eyes were hardening, his blood beginning to boil. If he didn't get this man into Arkham, you would be killed. His employer threatened to have you killed, Jonathan had feelings for you and he didn't want you killed for something beyond his control. "Doctor L/N, you may step down." The judge stated. You stepped down from the stand, walking in front of Jonathan, you caught his eye and he avoided eye contact. He was called to the stand. His testimony was compelling, he seemed to be gaining the jury's attention. In the end, the testimony given by Crane meant the hitman went to Arkham. You kept your face neutral before exiting the court room. You walked out your heels clicking, "Y/N!"

You turned. Jonathan was walking purposely and quickly in your direction. "Yes." Your tone was unsure. "I have to apologise for not keeping in contact." You shrugged, "I didn't either, we are both busy. You don't have to apologise." He moved forwards. "I am sorry." Jonathan brushed a lock of hair out of your face, fingers brushing against your skin. You stepped forward. Jonathan took a small breath, "I do not know what we should do from here. I do not know how you make me feel, and how I should act towards it." You shrugged again. "We can take it slow." You suggested, leaning forwards. He sighed, his warm breath caressing your skin. "I cannot, not right now." You sighed, "Maybe we never can, if you keep pushing me away." He silently agreed. His nose brushed against yours. Eyes closing. He hoped to a deity he didn't believe in that Falcone won't find out about you. "I cannot answer that, not now." You nodded stepping back. He missed the contact, he missed your presence in proximity to him. "Goodbye Jonathan." He almost cried at the sound of his name falling from your lips. You turned and left him standing in the hallway which, thankfully, was empty. "Better a broken heart then a broken neck." He muttered to the empty hall.
