Oh Lord, Oh Lord, what have I done?
I've fallen in love with a man on the run
Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I'm begging you please
Don't take that sinner from me
Oh don't take that sinner from me

You had fallen for the slightly accented tones of Jonathan Crane, you worked him. You were a villain to someone who specialised in destroying cities, Ra's had asked that you work together to help terrorise Gotham. It was almost as if he knew you had fallen in love with the blue-eyed beauty. Ra's probably knew about your feelings and was manipulating you. He was nothing like you had ever met before. You were sitting with him in his office at Arkham. Looking over at him, his blue eyes analysing you with a cold demeanour. He drew his plump bottom lip into his mouth, as the silence grew. You kept your eyes on his, refusing to be drawn into to the seductive air that you felt. You knew he was doing it intentionally. You just knew it.

Oh Lord, Oh Lord, what do I do?
I've fallen for someone who's nothing like you
He's raised on the edge of the devil's backbone
Oh I just wanna take him home
Oh I just wanna take him home
Ooooooooooo
Ooooooooooo

You discussed the ways in which you could terrorise the city, you were leaning over his desk. You were pointing at some water tower on the map. When you looked up, you were face to face with Jonathan, drawing in a breath your eyes flicked from his striking eyes to his plump lips. They followed the path once more and you swallowed. You grabbed your bag and coat, rushing out the door stammering an apology. Jonathan rose from his seat and walked quickly after you. He caught up with you at the elevator. He crowded you in. He moved you so your back was pressed against the wall, then he stalled the elevator. He brushed a lock of your hair back, his eyes were glazed. Pain radiating through the blue. All you wanted to do at this point was take him home, and take away his pain. He was pain personified, however, he gave pain and took it. He was in league with the devil and you had fallen for the devil's man.

Oh Lord, Oh Lord, he's somewhere between
A hangman's knot, and three mouths to feed
There wasn't a wrong or a right he could choose
He did what he had to do
Oh he did what he had to do
Ooooooooooo
Ooooooooooo

There was no wrong or right path that he could chose, no matter the path you would follow him. You knew that he often walked hand in hand with the devil through most of his plans. Jonathan always did what he had to do. He watched as you slept in the bed beside him, the sheets filled with the scent of your perfume. You had thought about what Jonathan had to do, the terror that he inflicted and how it was used against him. He watched as your chest rose and fell, he moved his fingers through your hair. You still slept, curled against him. Jonathan thought about what he had to do to protect you. You woke slowly and Jonathan was asleep again his head resting on your shoulder. You didn't move not wanting to wake him, you thought about how he was so close to a hangman's knot, how close he was to death protecting you.

Give me the burden, give me the blame
I'll shoulder the load, and I'll swallow the shame
Give me the burden, give me the blame
How many, how many Hail Marys is it gonna take?

"Share it with me!" You practically shouted at Jonathan, he shook his head. He was silent, he didn't speak. The brooding silence was killing you. "Share it with me", you moved closer to him, standing in front of him. "Give me some of the burden. It will help, I can help." You pleaded with him. Jonathan pulled you into his arms, he twisted and placed his face in your neck. He sighed against your skin. "I cannot tell you. He will kill you." You sighed. "I can help, I've been helping you. Let me shoulder some of this." He shook his head and grazed his lips over your neck brushing your pulse point which made you inhale sharply. You wanted him to share the burden with you, you wanted to help him. He didn't want you dead, he knew you could handle it but he didn't want you dead. You knew that loving him was to Ra's weakness but you didn't care, you saw it as a strength. You loved this man, the man that walked between the paths of right and wrong. The man who was good and bad, the man who walked hand in hand with the devil. You didn't care about what Jonathan had done, after all you had done it too. You just didn't want him taken from you.

Don't care if he's guilty, don't care if he's not
He's good and he's bad and he's all that I've got
Oh Lord, Oh Lord, I'm begging you please
Don't take that sinner from me
Oh don't take that sinner from me

"Please." You begged Ra's "Don't take him from me."
