You were Bones' little sister and you worked aboard the Enterprise in their botany department. You were good friends with Sulu and you occasionally took care of his plants whenever he was on shift or was unable to do it himself. You were busy taking care of a grey looking rose that Kirk had found by pure accident. You were studying its properties writing them down in a notebook. You preferred the notebook as it didn't break or stall whenever Kirk blew up parts of the Enterprise. The doors slid open and someone walked in not Sulu like you thought but Spock. Quickly you smoothed down your uniform over your fuller figure, making sure it wasn't wrinkled. You blushed and noticed the rose changed to the same shade as your cheeks your brow furrowed and you quickly took a picture. Scribbling down what had happened you forgot Spock was in the room with you. The rose turned a shade of red as you realised that Spock was closer than you thought and again you followed through by taking a picture. "Why is it changing shades, Lieutenant?"

You blushed slightly again, the rounded apples of cheeks displaying a pink hue the rose followed suit. "I think its copying emotions through colours." You muttered before bolting the room. Sulu entered as you exited. He was your best friend and therefore very protective of you. The rose was no grey again. "What did you say to her?" Sulu's voice was simmering with anger. He knew about your crush on the First Officer. The rose was beginning to turn a deep dark red showing Sulu's anger. "Interesting." Spock muttered and he went over your writings and how you suspected that the light pink meant shy and how light red meant love or crush. "She's had a crush on you since the Academy, she was always too nervous to say anything because she didn't think you liked her back." Spock nodded and moved away to confront you. Sulu watched as the rose turned into a mix of yellow and red, he took a photo and concluded that Spock was happy and crushing on you too. Sulu grinned giddy that you were about to be with your prince charming and the rose turned into a dazzling mix of colours.

Spock moved through the halls and arrived atyour quarters. Spock knocked carefully on your door. You opened it slightlyjust enough to see Spock. "May I come in, Y/N?" You nodded allowing him to comeinto the room. You tugged your uniform straight again. He paused to think abouthow he was going to talk to you, and expose his feelings. "Y/N I have hadfeelings for you since the Academy. I did not act on them as I did not want toshow favouritism. But now I feel as if I can express these feelings now. I donot if I can express these emotions for you in the way that you deserve." Yousmiled at the conflicted Vulcan. "I have feelings for you too. I have since theAcademy." He seemed to be thinking about how to answer you. You both stepforwards slightly. "Would you like to go out with me, Y/N?" You nodded,grinning. "Tonight?" His lips turned up slightly, "Tonight."
