You walked with them, all of you huddled together in between the group of cyber men.

"So you going to explain what upgrade means?" Yaz whispered.

The doctor had a concentrating face on as she turned her head slightly towards Yaz.

"It means they change people into one of them. Take away your emotions, your body, just basically your brain wired into one of those machines. You become one of them, empty and lifeless. A machine." The doctor whispered as she gave the cyber man in front of her the death stare.

Your heart sunk. You didn't want to be 'upgraded'. Not now when your finally feeling better, happier. Fear also started to set in as you thought about it. Out of instinct and habit you gently held onto the back of doctors lilac coat as you trailed a little behind her. It was always a reassuring action, just to have the doctor a little closer made you feel safer, even if you were on bad terms.

The cyber men led you into a room with all the people you saw earlier, sitting in the trance like state, chanting again.

"Just five of you then?" The doctor asked, looking around for more cyber men.

"One would be enough!" One cyber man stated.

"Prove it!" The doctor smiled. "Get rid of four of you"

They simply stood there and the doctor sighed, shrugging her shoulders.

"Worth a try" she muttered. "Why make them chant? I understand you're using the specific frequency to put this race into a trance and hypnotise them to come with you to be 'upgraded'. But why the chanting?" The doctor asked.

"You will be upgraded. And we shall make your friends go first so you see what you couldn't save. Don't fear, all emotions will be extracted" the cyber man stated in its metallic tone.

Your grip on the doctors coat tightened as you slid a little behind her taller figure. The doctor felt your grip and turned around, facing your scared figure.

"It's okay. I won't let them do anything" she said softly, squeezing your shoulders a little.

You forced a small smile, nodding. You really didn't want your emotions to go away. You could tell she was still angry but to make sure you were Okay was her main priority, even if Okay meant your fears. It was more important than some argument. She smiled at you reassuringly and turned back around to face the cyber men.

"You didn't answer my question. Why the chanting?" The doctor asked again, more sternly.

They hesitated before speaking "We didn't do that"

You all looked at the metal figure in shock and confusion. You stepped a little to the side, away from the doctor and looking at the armoured men. They weren't doing it. Who was?

"What? No you're controlling their actions" The doctor asked confused.

"We........can't stop them.." another cyber man said.

Your eyebrows shot up your forehead and you couldn't help the smirk set on your face.

"Okay then. I wasn't expecting that." Ryan said, staring in just as much shock.

You looked around properly where you were standing. It seemed to be a large space which had a huge lifted wall above your heads, like a removable wall. You grinned, knowing this was the perfect opportunity to get those cyber men trapped. You turned to the doctor, tugging on her sleeve a little. Seeing as she was in a mood with you she ignored you, keeping her gaze upon the cybermen. You sighed, tugging harder.

"Doctor" you whispered.

You glanced your way to which you instantly pointed upwards. She stared confused for a moment before quickly looking up then back to the cyber men, grinning. The doctor stated to fiddle with the sonic, adjusting setting and what not.

"Well, it was very nice to briefly chat but I believe we'll be saying goodbye for a little while. Until the next time" the doctor said cheerfully.

She smiled as she rose her sonic to the ceiling and the wall cane falling down instantly. You jolted back a little with the others as it landed with a loud thud, shaking the ground beneath your feet. The doctor turned around quickly, scanning the chanting people then following her beeps from the sonic and leading to a large computer base machine.

"The frequency used to hypnotise them all is coming from here. If I can retrace the signal, reverse the polarity, reset it and..." the doctor continued to ramble onwards.

You in the other hand, rolled your eyes, picking up a chair.

"Yeah, I have a better idea. Chairs are very useful, surely you've seen this being done before" you smiled.

The doctor didn't turn around, still holding that grudge. You huffed in frustration but focused on the machine in front of you. You smiled, giving the others a look. They seemed to know exactly what you were going to do and smirked, taking a few steps back. Without further ado, you charged at the machine with the chair and threw it onto it. Sparks flew out from the entire machine, making the doctor jump back. The lights slowly faded into blackness as smoke fumes out of it.

Immediately you heard footsteps behind you. You turned around, grinning. The people were moving around, no longer under the spell. You could still however hear the chanting. Although now it wasn't synchronised, more muffled individual words, in sentences too.

"Thank you! Thank you!" A males voice said.

You turned and saw the old man, coming up to you and hugging you. You giggled a little, hugging him back.

"You didn't run away. You came back for us. You saved us. Thank you!" The man thanked, still hugging you.

"Excuse me, who are you?" The doctor questioned the old man.

He stopped hugging you, smiling at the doctor.

"He's that old man I told you about. The one that told me about their god and.." you smiled, looking at the man.

"The one you wandered off with!" The doctor said sharply.

Your eyes snapped to her. She really was in a bad mood. You hated being on bad terms like this and were really dreading the talk later on in the TARDIS. You felt your heart swell and you looked down.

"Those metal men. They came and forced us to be upgraded. We of course refused, saying that our loving god will take care of us. Then they disrespected our faith! We still refused to go so they put us in the trance. However we kept thinking of our god and his three elements. We always will have faith and even mind control cannot take over that. I fought so hard to control my body to get you down into this cave. Thank you for coming" the man smiled, muttering the three elements to himself as he walked off.

You smiled brightly at him, admiring just how much these people all stood by their faith. So much so that even the cyber men couldn't take that away from them.

"Right, I need you all to go get these people back outside. Just the way we came from. Keep walking ahead. Get them out of here all of you go" the doctor said, making you all go get the people.

You stayed behind, knowing exactly what the doctor was planning on doing. She was clearly going to try and face these cyber men on her own. And you were not going to let her do that alone. So you glanced back, watching as the other three led the people out. But you stayed still, stood beside the doctor.

"What are you still doing here?!" The doctor asked surprised to see you.

"Can't let you fight alone doctor" you shrugged, smiling.

She was not happy and was ready to shout at you, maybe even drag you out herself but the wall that kept the cyber me trapped lifted again into the air, revealing heaps of grit and dust along with the five figures of the cyber men.

"Upgrade in progress. Wall overridden. Delete. Delete. Delete!" They shouted.

They all started walking towards you and the doctor with their built in hand lasers aiming directly at you both.
