Tides

You'd all finished your food by now. You'd spent a lot of time there and the sun was setting now on the planet. It was a really beautiful sight, the orange and red sky swayed around the setting sun. The colours swirled together and reflected off each of the water filled craters.

The doctor and Yaz were sat cuddling each other together and you couldn't help but smile at how cute they were together.

"The sunset's so beautiful here" Yaz whispered, leaning on the doctor's shoulder.

"Not as beautiful as you" the doctor replied, wrapping an arm around Yaz's waist tightly.

"No, not as beautiful as you" Yaz said, kissing the doctor's cheek before resting her head on her shoulder again, growing sleepy watching the sunset.

"I love you" the doctor whispered, kissing Yaz's forehead softly.

"I love you too" Yaz whispered back, holding the doctor tightly.

You were sat on your back, staring up at the sky and turning your head occasionally to the sunset. This place was really peaceful. You breathed in the air that was growing cooler by the second and wrapped the towel around you some more, trying to conserve some heat.

Missy came round and sat next you you. You smiled at her, sitting up with her and enjoying her company.

"Thank you" you said, staring out at the sunset.

She looked at you a little confused.

"What for?" She asked.

You looked back at her, smiling. She was so beautiful. How many times had you said that?! You couldn't be blamed. She was truly amazing.

"For bringing us here. We really needed this. To calm down. We haven't really had a trip this relaxed and enjoyable for a long time. We really needed this. To, you know, defuse tensions in the TARDIS" you told her.

She smiled, looking out to the sunset. You observed her perfect face in the light a little on her before looking out at the sunset yourself. A cool wind breezes past you and you shivered slightly. Missy looked over to you, smiling as she saw you growing cold, the goosebumps rising across your body.

"Cold?" She questioned.

"Just a little" you chuckled.

"Come here" She said softly, reaching out her arm, gesturing you to snuggle up to her.

You blushed, seeing that she didn't have her towel wrapped around her and was only in her bikini. You blushed furiously but complied and cuddled up to her, wrapping your arms around her bare torso. You rested your head on her shoulder. She wrapped her arms around you and you snuggled into her warmth of having two hearts. No wonder Yaz and the doctor snuggled up so often.

You were so close to her. And her skin was soft and smooth. You bit your lip, your cheeks visibly heating up. You tried to stop acting like a creep and checking out a friend. You were hugging a friend and that was all! You needed to stop making it something it wasn't.

You breathed in the air feeling your eyes getting heavy as you watched the sunset. You didn't want to close your eyes though. You wanted this moment to last forever. Being in Missy's arms while watching a beautiful scene in front of you.

"You should get some sleep" Missy told you, seeing you yawn a little.

"No, no. I'm fine" you smiled, trying not to close your eyes.

She chuckled lightly, holding you tighter as you leaned your body against her some more, curling up your legs until your body was a curled up ball against her. You tried to focus on the beautiful sight in front of you but your eyes grew heavy and you couldn't help but close them for a little while.

"Doctor? Was the water level that high before?" Graham asked, causing you to open your eyes a little.

You looked down and saw that the water had come up dramatically. You'd all been focusing on the sunset that you weren't looking down at the craters of water. Only now it wasn't just the craters that had water filling them. The water was overflowing loads and the waves were coming higher and higher up the hill you were all sat on.

"High tide must be coming soon. The moon's tidal pull are extremely strong and unexpectedly irregular here. That's why hardly anyone comes here! Okay, listen to me everyone, let's all get up, don't move from the hill!" The doctor told you all urgently, everyone getting up.

You groaned, pulling yourself away from Missy's embrace and standing up with heavy eyelids and heavy limbs. You didn't realise how tired you were before. You pulled the towel closely around you, feeling the loss of warmth from Missy. You walked over to see the water coming up.

"Okay...erm, what are we going to do?" You asked, staring at the waves thrashing at the hill, getting increasingly closer to you all.

"We need to get to the TARDIS. It's safe there" the doctor said to you all.

"Where is the TARDIS? I can't see it" Yaz asked.

"It's underwater" Missy answered for the doctor.

You looked down, your eyebrows raised up your forehead in shock. How were you supposed to get to that?

"I mean...I say I'm good at holding my breath but the TARDIS is really far away and it's far down underwater" you said.

"We're going to have to try. The tides coming in really quickly so we all need to move now!" the doctor said urgently.

You frowned, really not wanting to go near the water. You could drown down there! And you knew that you'd tried to drown yourself only a few hours ago, but you didn't want to die now. Not after hugging Missy so closely and watching the beautiful sunset. It was strange how your mind fluctuated but you didn't want to die. Not now.

"Okay then. We all need to stay close. Stay in pairs at least okay. Call for help if you need it and help each other. I'll lead you as close as we can get above the TARDIS and we'll swim down under together okay." The doctor told you.

You all nodded in response, your eyes fixed on the violent water. It seemed like everything was out to get you in the universe. No trip with the doctor ever turned out to be that simple. But that was the thrill of it all. So you walked down the hill with the doctor, the feeling of fear in your chest but the feeling of thrill accompanying it.
