Cold

"Doctor...I didn't mean to..." you said quietly, looking anywhere but at her old eyes.

"I need you safe! I can't do that if you keep wandering off without even warning me or telling anyone!" The doctor exasperated, giving you a serious look.

"I know. I-" you were cut off when the TARDIS suddenly jolted.

The movement was so unexpected and strong that both you and the doctor were thrown off your feet. You landed face first on the floor, causing you to not so prettily hit your cheek on the hard floor.

"(Y/n)! Are you okay?!" The doctor asked, getting up from the floor herself.

"Never better" you groaned, using your arms to push yourself up.

You held your cheek, feeling it a little achy. You saw the doctor running around the controls, staring at the screens in confusion.

"What was that?" You asked, standing up.

She looked over to you, then back at the controls.

"The TARDIS just took off on its own" the doctor told you.

You raised your eyebrows. That jolt definitely made you realise that the doctor wasn't that bad at flying the TARDIS. Sure she may make it a bump ride but not that bumpy.

"Can she do that? Just take off on her own?" You asked, looking up at the TARDIS.

"Well she's just being a stubborn old girl! She knows I don't like it when she does this. Don't you!" She shouted up at the TARDIS.

The TARDIS just gave her a little whoozing sound in response, clearly frustrating the doctor even more. You couldn't help but smirk at this, biting your lip to stop yourself from laughing.

"Obviously I have a face that no one listens to. Who chooses my faces? I demand some authority! Although I am really liking this new face.... but I could do with people listening to me! And that's pointed towards everyone! You (y/n), you TARDIS and...everyone!" She ranted, finally coming to a stop and crossing her arms, pouting like a child and blowing the hair that drooped in front of her face away.

You breathed deeply and quietly, trying not to make any noise. You only broke that silence when you jumped at the sudden cramp you got, wincing your face and curling over.

"(Y/n) are you sure about me not giving you something because you don't seem very comfortable there." The doctor said.

"Oh no, really I'm good. Every girl just deals with the damn tampons and paracetamol and you're as good as new." You told her. "You should know this by now"

She sighed, turning away, clearly not in the mood for some girl talk then.

"Where are we anyways?" You asked her.

"Not quite sure. But one things strange" she said.

"What is it?" You questioned,

"There's only one life form being detected on the whole planet out there" she replied.

You raised a brow, that bit of information peaking your interest. She stared at the screens for a little while longer before turning back to you. She had a wondrous look on her face.

"Shall we go take a look?" She asked you, a smile playing on her features.

You smiled in response, finally being allowed to act upon your curiosity, and with the doctor for once.

"Definitely!" You responded.

The doctor smiled, quickly scampering towards the door to which you followed. Your excitement was over the roof. You wanted to get out there. Know where it was the TARDIS took you this time and see the planet and see the one life form. You had no idea of what to expect but you sure were restless.

"Ready?" She asked you, both of you standing at each door.

"Always" you smiled.

At that you both pulled the doors open and immediately stepped out. But what you were expecting wasn't as nice as what you were greeted with. It was freezing! There was snow falling and you were standing on a layer of fresh and freezing snow, the wind blowing your (h/c) all over the pace and freezing you to the bone.

You crossed your arms over your chest, clamping your hands around your arms against the cold. Your teeth were chattering. Even your jacket and thick jeans weren't enough to fight against this cold. You were freezing!

But your cold feelings were instantly put to one side as you saw the scene in front of you. It was utterly beautiful. Everywhere was covered in snow, a row of huge mountains on either side of you, covered in snow and ice. The snow flakes came falling down from the plimsolls of clouds.

"Whoa! This is beautiful!" You shouted, stepping forward more, your hands coming down to your side.

You of course, still being a child at heart, tilted your head back and opened your mouth, sticking out your tongue, trying to catch some snow flakes.

"Yes it is beautiful. But there's someone all alone on this planet. What do you say we go find them?" The doctor asked.

You turned to her with a bright smile, nodding ecstatically. You were really happy to be on this planet. You hadn't been to many cold places and you always loved snow and winter.

"Stick close (y/n). I don't want you to get lost over here" the doctor told you.

"Oh, there's no way in hell I'm getting lost! Imma just...yeah, stick close" you said, already moving towards the doctor.

She chuckled a little at your response. There was one thing she was sure of, you were scared shit of getting lost. That fear never really changed.

You walked closely behind the doctor as you both walked through the snow. You hid a little behind the doctor, protecting yourself from the cold wind using her figure. She didn't seem to be too affected by the cold but then you remembered that she had two hearts. Her circulation must have been amazing and she wouldn't get as cold as quickly.

As you were walking you couldn't help but feel a little on edge. You just didn't quite feel right. You turned around a little, trying to look past the snow that kept falling in your face. You couldn't see anything. Everything looked normal. There was snow and mountains and just below one of the mountains was a statue. You couldn't quite make out what it was a statue of but it looked kinda random just in the middle of a planet with only one person on it.

You didn't really make much of it. You turned back around, continuing to walk behind the doctor. It was really cold and you wished you'd gone back and dressed better for this.

You felt strange again and stopped, turning back around, scanning the area. At first the place looked like it did before, completely normal. But then you saw the statue and...you swore it had moved.

You looked closely in the distance at it. It was definitely closer to you. Closer than before. You looked around a little, making sure there were no other statues. Or maybe to try and convince yourself that the statue hadn't moved and it was just the different angle you were looking at it from. But when you looked back, the statue had moved closer yet again. And it had moved close enough for you to be able to make out what it was a statue of. It was a stone angel.

The snow got in your eyes a little and you blinked. Only to open your eyes and see that the angel had yet again moved. You stared in disbelief and fear. How the hell did a statue of an angel just move?

"Doctor!" You called.

You turned your head but when you did, your heart dropped in absolute terror. She was gone.
