Ice cream

You woke up from your sleep, looking over at your clock which only read 4:07am- TARDIS time. That's not even two hours of sleep you got. You'd had a late night in last night and you apparently weren't in the mood to sleep.

You sat up, instantly feeling an awful back pain. You groaned a little, sitting up. There was a sharp cramp in your lower abdomen, causing you to curl over and grab yourself. You wined, knowing exactly what this was.

"Girl problems are the worst!" You wined, getting up and heading to the bathroom to clean yourself up.

Yup, it was that awful time of the month. You always thought guys were lucky that they didn't have to go through this for a whole week every month! And it was just your luck that you got the worst cramps in the world.

You got out of the bathroom, putting on your fluffy and warm gown, knowing there was only one cure to all this. You headed to the kitchen, breathing deeply as another cramp hit you.

"God this is the worst" you wined, moving towards the kitchen.

You were lucky enough that your room in the TARDIS was close to the kitchen. The TARDIS seemed to have moved both the music room and the kitchen closer to your room ever since you'd shown a liking towards those two rooms.

You stepped into the kitchen, going towards the kettle and boiling some water. You rummaged around in some draws and cupboards and found a hot water bottle. You smiled, grabbing it and waiting for the water to warm up.

There was a nice window in the kitchen by the sink, currently showing you a beautiful view of the stars and space. You smiled and felt at peace and relaxed a little as you gazed out of the window, listening to the water bubble.

But you were abruptly brought out of that calm space when another agonisingly bad cramp hit you. You shouted a little, curling over and grabbing ahold of your stomach. You breathed heavily, trying to calm yourself down. You looked up and stopped the kettle just short of boiling and carefully poured the warm, steamy water into the hot water bottle. You filled it to the top and screwed the cap on.

You quickly put it on your stomach and instantly felt your muscles relaxing. You breathed a sigh of relief. You knew it would only be a matter of time before another cramp stabbed your abdomen though so you quickly moved to the fridge. You saw a tub of ice cream and knew that was exactly what you needed.

You took out the whole tub and got a spoon, opening it. At that very moment a really bad cramp hit you, causing you to groan in pain and sit down on the floor which the TARDIS kindly heated up for you. You leant on the wall with the hot water bottle warming you up and relaxing your muscles. You took your spoon and dig into the ice cream, taking a huge bite and closing your eyes in happiness.

"Mmmmm" you smiled, swallowing the vanilla ice cream.

This was a three flavour tub so you got your spoon and dig into the strawberry part next. You curled yourself up, eating away in the corner.

You thought you were going to be alone but you saw Graham walking in with a gown on.

"What are you doing awake?" You asked him.

He jumped a little, clearly not having seen you sitting on the floor with a hot water bottle eating away at the ice cream.

"Oh, hello (y/n). I was just making my sandwiches. You know, the ones I take on our trips." He smiled, taking out some bread.

You laughed at him, giggling in disbelief.

"You make those sandwiches at four in the morning while the rest of us sleep" you laughed.

"Well when else am I going to make them?!" He protested, continuing to make his sandwich. "You've got to be prepared when it comes to food. When we go on our adventures it seems like we never stop to eat"

You laughed some more, only for a sharp cramp to wave over you. You instantly stopped laughing, wining as you curled up some more, pressing the water bottle closer to your stomach. You took some of the chocolate ice cream and started to eat away at it.

"You alright?" Graham asked you in concern at your sudden pained face.

You strained a smile, looking up at him and laughing.

"It's that wonderful time of the month" you told him.

He seemed to understand immediately, his mouth turning into an 'o' shape and his head nodding.

"Well, I'm not really sure what to do to help. Not very experienced in that sector myself" Graham smiled.

You chuckled softly, taking another bite of ice cream. It might have just been you, but ice cream, or any food for that matter, tasted ten times better when you were on your period.

"I just need something to distract me other than a load of ice cream" you weakly smiled.

Graham smiled, making his sandwich and wrapping it up for the next day. He walked over to you, sitting on the chair in front of you. You looked up at him.

"Well, there's one really funny story that'll cheer you up." Graham smiled.

You nodded, eating for this story as you gauged away at the ice cream.

"Well, you know how the doctor's only been a woman for the first time" he started.

You nodded your head.

"Well, think about what her first time was like" he smiled.

You gasped at the thought, your mouth hanging open. She mustn't have known what to do.

"Yaz has to help her though it. Bearing in mind this was before they were going out" he told you.

You gaped at the thought. That must have been quite a day for the two of them.

"Apparently she thought she was dying" Graham smiled.

"I'm not surprised. Imagine going two thousand plus years as a dude then suddenly you have to face all these problems. Wow...that's something to go through." You chuckled a little.

"Well, I'm going back to bed. What about you?" He asked.

"I don't think I'm going to be able to get much more sleep. Might just stay here and eat my way through this tub of ice cream and wait for the others to wake back up" you smiled.

He nodded, walking out with his sandwiches and bidding you a good night which you returned. Well, that was not a conversation you thought you'd have had this morning.
