"Jolyne? Hey, Jolyne!"

October, Autumn seasons. As those leaves of orange, red and brown fell off the tall trees, I knelt on the floor of my bedroom, propping myself up on the windowsill. Chatting on my cell phone with my friend, Jolyne Kujo... A.K.A the toughest girl in my school... A.K.A my very, very hot crush.

"So, you still wanna meet up with me, Hermés and F.F. at Peek-Cliff tomorrow night? I heard that comet showers gonna be awesome" I asked, my index and thumb twiddling around with each other. I heard a thoughtful hum before she responded. "Yes! Y/n, you're all my gang! Why wouldn't I go?" "Great! I'll pick you up at seven tomorrow, we'll get some snacks and meet up with them." "Awesome, bye."

"Bye!" I heard the beep and smiled, putting the phone onto my side table and directing my gaze back outside. I pulled a colorful blanket off my bed and covered my body with it, the chilling air wasn't nice, but just for the calming aesthetic, it has to be my favorite.

I kept a smile on my face as I stared off. I was ready. I was going to confess to her. I chose the worst time to, but I had to. I don't want to just keep being friends, even Hermés and F.F. know how much I want her. I need to, if I don't ask her tomorrow night, I'll be ashamed of myself.

Next night...

With my brother's car, I pulled up on the sidewalk by Jolyne's house. I walked up and knocked on the door, my hands in my flannel as I waited for a response. It took a minute, but the door opened... but not to Jolyne. A woman who looked to be in her forties was there. She gave me a curious stare. "Hello?"

"Hi. My name is Y/n, I'm Jolyne's friend. I'm here to pick her up for our girls-night-out." She gave an acknowledging gasp before bringing her hands together. "Oh! Y/n! Jolyne is just finishing up, come inside! You can wait in the lounge." "Really ma'am?" She nodded, guiding me inside. She took me to the lounge and I sat on the couch. I was about to pull out my phone when Jolyne's mom sat opposite me.

"My daughter, she's always talking about you." My eyes widened at this. She actually talks about me? "Really?" "Yes! She absolutely adores you! I remember, whenever she's embarrassed, she just mumbles about how she would want to talk to you, and how she thinks you're so cu-"

"Mom!" At the doorway stood the black and green haired girl herself. Y/n stood up from her spot. "Hey Jolyne. Are you ready to go?" I asked. She gave me a confident smile and curt nod. "Hell yeah. Later Mom!" She then placed a kiss on her moms cheek and dragged me out, almost as if it were rushed.

I brought her to the car, let the both of us get in and began driving to the store. The drive was comfortable, with us talking about itsy-bitsy, weird things in life. I couldn't help but quickly peek at her smile every-so-often. She's always been depicted as this tough girl, but she's so pretty!

Eventually, we stopped at the grocery-store. The plain-white lighting made my eyes perk up as we stepped inside. "Hey Jolyne, how about you get the snacks while I get the drinks?" I suggested, she nodded and we split up. I went over to the drinks aisle, grabbing the first red box of cola I saw and walking over to the lemonade. I wanted to split up initially to take my bit of time to think over my options with her.

"How do I ask? Do I say it now or should I think it over or-?" "Y/n!"

I whipped my head around to see the green/black haired girl. "Yo, they had sherbets in for once! I got chocolates and sherbets and those banana-things that F.F. likes. How about you?" "Uh, just some cola. I didn't expect you to get here so fast, I was gonna grab some lemonade." I responded. I grabbed a bottle and after paying for them, we threw them in the back of the car and headed out.

I kept the windows open, the wind brushing my face as the town-lights illuminated the streets. The lights of the stores, and the towering trees made an aesthetic as they faded away. I heard a sigh from beside me, and the music from the radio was silenced. I peered from my seat to Jolyne. She was distressed.

"Hey Jojo, you alright?" She shot her gaze at me and back to the path. "Yeah, just tired." The silence was thick, like a cement wall had been placed between us. "...Y/n, you don't have dad, right?" She asked. I held my breath, the memory of him slightly poisoning my mind. "Jolyne, my dad passed away a long, long time ago. Fucking drug addict, eventually it got to him. Ever since, it's just been me, my brother, my mom and my grandma." "...Sometimes, I just wanna forget I even had a dad. He's never home. He's not a bad guy, I think, but he's just... never around."

The air grew thicker.

Soon, we stopped at the cliff. We both got out of the car, laying on the hood of it. The midnight-blue sky shimmered as the silence wrapped around us, like the cocoon enveloping itself around the small, green, dotted caterpillar, waiting for the right time to break free of the shell. "Jojo... I'm sorry if I made that awkward." "No, it's alright. I made it awkward. I just wanted to get that off my chest."

"Actually, Jolyne, I want to tell you something."

I sat up. I took in the crisp air, letting my muscles ease as I let it go. I pulled my legs to my chest, my face half-covered so I can still track my eyes on the bright spots in the sky. "I... I've had a crush on you since I moved here. When I saw you, when you protected me from that guy who... I feel like I should be at your feet." I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to her, seeing her eyes of sympathy and beauty glistening onto me. "Y/n. I only did what anyone would do. Pervert being a bitch to you? I'd be happy to knock 'em out... and, I like you too." She said, taking her other hand and bringing it up to my warm cheek. The silence was comfortable, the darkness was pleasant and we shared our first kiss.

I kept my arms around her as I pulled her close. It was like someone released a jar of butterflies in my chest as it went on. But inevitably, we separated. She gave a long sigh before covering her mouth, giggling. "Wha... what's so funny?" "Y-your lips- Heehee!"

Roughly, I rubbed my lips, noticing the neon-green coming off. "Jolyne! I- Ah!" I continued rubbing the lipstick off as she was in hysterics. "Hey! What'cha laughing 'bout?" We looked over, noticing Hermés and F.F. parking beside us. Lucky the lipstick's off!

"Oh, you know, girl things!"
