Privilege

I don't think people realize the privilege they have sometimes
Yes, some people do know it
But others don't

Privilege is being able to make a plan to travel
Without having to research the place and make sure you're not illegal there
Privilege is being able to afford to travel
Privilege is being able to go to a public bathroom
And not worry you're going to be yelled at or beaten up
Privilege is being able to walk outside after dark
And not think about the keys between your fingers or the pepper spray in your pocket
Privilege is being able to walk outside after dark
And not have keys between your fingers or pepper spray in your pocket
Privilege is being able to go for a walk or a drive
And not worry about cops killing you for your skin colour
Privilege is not having to worry about what you'll eat tonight
Privilege is not having to take into consideration how many stairs there are in a building
If it doesn't have an elevator
Privilege is so many things that people don't realize enough
Privilege is not having to think about your privilege
Privilege presents itself in many ways
And people don't recognize that enough
