I wish kids could talk to adults the way adults talk to kids
I wish that we could do that without getting brutally reprimanded
Parents can say all kinds of horrid shit
But the second kids say even half the shit adults do?
We're suddenly,
Rude
Inappropriate
We're told,
How can you say that!
Do you know how disrespectful that is?
They're your parents! How horrible do you have to be to say that!
And of course,
We're usually physically reprimanded
Being spanked
Being grabbed
Bring dragged to our rooms
And if it's not physical,
We're screamed at until we lose track of time
We're called all kinds of names
We're yelled at and get sent to our rooms
It's stupid
But it's the way things work
And we can't change it
'Cause we're still kids
