Dark Side

You know what my dad told me one day?
I forget the rest of the conversation,
But I remember him saying,
"I think you're more in tune with your dark side than most people"

I remember thinking that that was bullshit
Everyone's interested in the darker side of humanity
Of themselves

But now I can't help thinking he was right
I like the dark side
It's quiet
And cozy
And if I can joke about arson and murder
So much the better

The dark side isn't as bad as people seem to think it is
There's something so incredibly fascinating about it
The fact that people think we're all split into angels and demons
Dark and light
Heaven and Hell
It isn't true
Most of us are somewhere in the middle
Maybe I just lean more towards the dark side than most people
But my people do to
So I'm ok with that
