Half a month before the engagement, Li Suimo marked it on the calendar with a pen.

Then she went to the dressing room and changed into a thick cheongsam with fur on the cuffs, hem and collar.

Winter came suddenly to A City, and autumn was so short that it seemed nonexistent.

When she woke up, the cold air hit her, and dewdrops had formed on the greenery outside the villa in the suburbs.

Li Suimo put on her clothes.

Although they didn't look thick, they were actually quite warm.

The underfloor heating in the Li family's villa was on, so it wasn't cold inside.

However, the maids who came in and out had put on ordinary down vests.

"Suddenly it got cold. It was sunny just the day before yesterday." Ji Wenjing was on the first floor, doing flower arrangements with scissors and the maid.

"Mom," Li Suimo came downstairs.

"Momo, why don't you sleep a little longer? You just got home last night after midnight. Aren't you tired?" Ji Wenjing asked.

Li Suimo smiled, her face pale. She asked, "I couldn't sleep."

Ji Wenjing sighed and asked the maid to prepare breakfast for Li Suimo.

Li Suimo sat down at the table and saw the maid come in and out.

She asked in confusion, "Where are the other maids?"

Ji Wenjing smiled and said, "There are too many people here when you're not home, and your father is busy with work, so I fired a few of them."

"Oh," Li Suimo looked unsuspecting.

She rolled up her sleeves and held out her hands to Ji Wenjing, saying, "Let me help you cut the flowers."

Her palms were rosy, and her fingertips were as white as fluorescent light.

Ji Wenjing looked at her and felt a pang in her heart.

She turned her head and handed Li Suimo the scissors, hiding her expression.

Li Suimo tidied up the messy green pine on the table.

Ji Wenjing scolded her, "You little devil, you're taking your anger out on my green pine!"

Li Suimo struggled and casually threw the scissors on the table.

The maid brought her breakfast over, but her phone kept buzzing with messages.

"Aren't you going to reply to the messages?" Ji Wenjing asked.

Li Suimo said lightly, "They're just making fun of me. It's not interesting."

Ji Wenjing touched Li Suimo's head and said nothing.

The social circles of A City and the coastal city didn't overlap much. After she had printed the invitations, Li Suimo had immediately found an excuse to come back to A City.

She missed home and wanted to spend time with her mother, so she left without telling anyone and didn't even bring much luggage.

When Liu Ruo found out, she was heartbroken and scolded and punished Qin Zhan.

Now someone came to apologize to her, but they didn't mention anything and didn't deny that Qin Qing was the one who did it.

Li Suimo stirred the porridge in her bowl absent-mindedly, listening to Ji Wenjing lecturing her.

"Quarrels between lovers are inevitable. Your father and I..."

Ji Wenjing said, "You should talk to Qin Zhan properly. After all, he used to like you so much... Ultimately, it's because you didn't cherish him enough. Now you want to make amends, but it's not that simple."
