"Are you sure you want to do this?" You ask your husband, Jim. Jim slowly nodded his head, still deciding.

The two of you were going to announce the gender of your new baby by dying your hair that color. Jim was hoping it wasn't a girl, therefore he wouldn't have to dye his hair pink. He was mistaken. You were already getting the light pink color in your hair, laughing at Jim's horrified face.

"Yeah, she's my daughter too. Might as well." Jim said, sitting down confidently in the chair. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see the result until it was truly finished. His hair wasn't so perfect anymore.

When they finished, Jim opened his eyes. He moaned when he saw that his normally dirty blonde hair was now pink. "Here." You say, throwing him a beanie hat. His hair was completely covered once he put the hat on.

You had a beanie as well, your hair tucked up into the top. For you, only a little but was dyed pink, just on the side. It easily tucked into the hat, letting the rest of your hair stay in normal style.

Both of you walked out to get some dinner. All of your friends were at a table, even Spock, who preferred to eat alone. "So, can you tell us now?" Uhura asked when you and Jim sat down.

"Oh okay." You mutter, grabbing the hat.

"Yay...." Jim mumbled, not very enthusiastic. He grabbed the hat and rolled his eyes.

"Not so happy to not be Perfect Hair anymore?" Scotty joked, laughing at his own nickname for Jim.

"Okay Jim. One two three." You say, pulling the hat off. Jim did the same, his whole body shifting into a confident position.

"YAY!" Uhura yelled, covering her mouth with her hands. Chekov, McCoy, Sulu, and Scotty were all grinning from ear to ear.

"Have fun with a girl." McCoy teased, laughing.

"Doctor McCoy is right, good luck." Spock said, trying to be happy.

"Thank you!" You say, thanking all of them. Jim stared straight ahead, still shocked at his hair. "Still not over your hair?"

"No...." Jim mumbled, poking at his food.

"Well, you did it for our daughter." You say, kissing his cheek.

"Yeah, I guess." Jim said, lightening up.  Maybe dying his hair wasn't the worse thing he'd have to do for his daughter.
