"Jim, how do you even do this? It's so boring." You complain, spinning back and forth in a chair on a boat. Your boyfriend Jim had taken you fishing for the first time. The two of you decided to do things from each other's childhood that you always did. For you that was running track, so the two of you raced to see who could run a mile the fastest.  Jim wanted to take you fishing. He would go up to Minnesota with his brother and fish in as many lakes as the could, mostly on the southern part of the state.

"It's not boring when you catch things." Jim insisted, a smile lightening his face. You smiled and laughed. "Soon Y/N, soon."

"We've been here for three hours." You say, sighing as you looked down at the water. "Is there even a fish in the lake?"

"I used to catch fish all the time here. There's lot of fish." Jim said, just as your pole bent. You screamed and grabbed the pole, reeling up the line. Jim loved over by you to help.

"I got one! I got one!" You yelled, struggling to get the fish into the boat. Jim grabbed a net and helped get the fish in.

"It's a huge walleye." Jim said, a wide grin on his face. "That's a keeper."

"How do you know it's a walleye?" You ask, avoiding the fish as much as possible. It kept flopping around and was covered in slime. Jim just laughed at you and picked it up with the net.

"See the white tip on the bottom of the tail? That means it's a walleye." Jim explained, motioning to the fish as he talked. You kept cringing at each motion of the walleye, but Jim just kept laughing. Somehow, Jim managed to get it into the live well for safe keeping. "There, you caught a fish."

"Yes I did, how can we go now?" You ask, impatient to get back to shore. Jim smiled and nodded.

"Sure, but when we get back, I'm going to teach you how to gut the fish. You think it's gross now." Jim laughed, smiling wide. Your eyes widened and you slowly sat down again. This should be good.
