*I got six hours on a bus to New York so since I'm writing on a bus, typos. The pic above is a pic of the Washington Memorial at night.
I'm so sorry this took so long. Im finishing writing it on a plane so.... I'm terrified of heights and I'm claustrophobic. This may not be too good of a chapter just so you know.

(Btw, went to WICKED on Broadway and now have a weird obsession with Jonah Platt/ Fiyero)**

James T Kirk, it was a name you hated. You two had never gotten along, he always seemed to be flirting or just showing off unnecessarily.

You sat in an astronomical sciences class, absolutely fascinated about the makeup of black holes. You were almost forgetting to take notes; you were so wrapped up in the subject. Jim Kirk sat to your left, nodding off in class. You could tell he never wanted to go into science, but in order to be a captain he has to.

The class passed and a group assignment was assigned. Your heart sank as the teacher assigned partners. Jim Kirk, the guy you hoped you'd never have to seriously work with. Jim perked up at the mention of his name, patting his desk as he sat up straighter. The groggy look refused to leave his face.

"Mr Kirk, next time you fall asleep there will be major consequences." Your professor said, sternly glaring at Kirk. You couldn't help but to giggle a little internally. He talked to Kirk like he was a thirteen year old boy that had stayed up all night playing video games.

"Yes sir sorry sir." Jim apologized, attempting to catch the assignment as it was tossed to him. He failed and the papers fell to the ground, the sound of the paper crackling being broadcast around the room. Some people chuckled, others just blankly stared. Silently judging Jim.

Jim looked done. He hung his head down as he began to pick up the paper; being his partner, you were obliged to help. "Thanks." Jim muttered, gathering the papers in his hands and standing up.

"You're welcome." You say, smiling a little. You were only shot down by his glare. Jim was obviously annoyed and he had no problem showing it.

"Let's go work on the project." Jim grumbled, avoiding eye contact at all costs. Eventually you gave up. If he was going to be rude, why couldn't you?

"Agreed." You state, standing up tall and strutting away. You were careful to sway your hips back and forth in front of Jim, making him so tempted he had to watch your backside. You also puffed out your chest, hoping to attract more attention to possibly make Jim jealous.

The project was due in a month. That was one month you were stuck with the Kirk. At first he annoyed you and you annoyed him, it was a mutual agreement. But after a while, things began to spark between you two. You felt it certainly, more of a lightened view of Jim.

Once you knew about his past, his rough hard past, sympathy swelled through your body. You couldn't help but want to comfort Jim, no matter how obnoxious he could be.

You told him about your past. He seemed to actually pay attention, take interest in your words.

The now flame that started as a spark now roared with strength. Jim had asked you out after the project was finalized. He hated you for a while, yet you two fell for each other.

You shouldn't put all the blame on Jim, you hated the man too. Until you two knew each other. Talked, laughed, and worked on that science project, which got a 98.4 % grade.

"Ready for our date?" Jim asked you, a smile spread wide across his face. He was always attractive when he smiled. His eyes would widen slightly, revealing the deep icy blue of his iris's even more. Jim's arm was wrapped around your shoulder, his hand protectively on your bicep.

"Always ready." You say, walking with Jim to go on your date. Possibly being partnered with your enemy wasn't so bad. Jim Kirk ended up being your true love.
