- 5 YEARS LATER -

" You strapped in?" I asked looking at the backseat of my car. Morgan gave me the thumbs up and I started to drive. The roof was down, the wind flowing through our hair and I put on Shotgun by George Ezra. We were on an open road, with no one else in sight.

" You ready?" I asked her, cranking up the radio.

" Always." She smiled.

" Home grown alligator, see you later Gotta hit the road, gotta hit the road." I sang.

" Something changed in the atmosphere Architecture unfamiliar I could get used to this." She sang the high pitched 'used' with me.

" Time flies by in the yellow and green Stick around and you'll see what I mean There's a mountain top that I'm dreaming of If you need me you know where I'll be. Take it away Morgan!"

She started singing the chorus " I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun. Feeling like a some one. I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun. Feeling like a some one." I loved driving with her, she was just one bundle of joy.

" Why can't I ride shotgun?" Morgan asked me when the song was over.

" Cause you're too small for that M." I said looking at her through the mirror. She stuck out her tongue, which made me laugh. " Hey, be nice or you won't get that present I bought you." I told her.

Her eyes widened " You bought me a present?"

I looked at her again " Of course I did, it's not every day that my little sister turns five." I told her.

We arrived home and Morgan immediately jumped out the car to run inside. Pepper had promised her a birthday cake, but what she didn't know, was that I had picked it up while we were shopping. I carried the cake inside and put it down on the kitchen table.

" Did you have fun?" Pepper asked, she was cooking dinner.

" Oh yeah, I bought her those blue sandals she wanted." I said tasting the sauce she was working on.

" The one with the butterflies?" She asked.

I nodded " Yes, and that's delicious by the way." I made my way to the living room to help dad set the table. " What did you do today?" I asked him.

" The usual." He said putting down the forks. The usual meaning, trying to figure out time travel, without success.

" Dad we both know-"

He stopped me " Your transponder went of earlier today." l looked at the little device on the mantelpiece and went to get it. I checked it, Natasha wanted to talk.

" This will just take a minute." I told dad and went to my room.

I turned on the holographic communication device and waited for Nat to appear. She appeared, her hair had grown a bit longer again. Her natural red was now dominating the blonde tips. She looked at me, and then at my hair. " Is that, pink?" She asked confused. She hadn't yet seen me with my pink hair.

" It's called cotton candy." I smiled, which made her smile as well. " Why did you call?" I asked her.

" Just wanted to check in. How are things over there?" She asked.

" Pretty good actually." I told her " I finally saved enough money so I bought a Eldorado Biarritz." I told her.

" A Cadillac?" She asked surprised.

I nodded " A red one. Paid for it all by myself, second-hand of course."

" That's so cool." She told me.

" How about you?" I asked her.

" Just eating my PB and jelly." She said showing me her sandwich.

" Odette?" I heard dad call me from downstairs.

I looked back at Nat " I'm sorry I gotta go." I said " It's Morgan's birthday." She nodded and we said our goodbyes.

" Make a wish M." I told her when Pepper put down the cake in front of her. I knew mine never came true but, maybe hers would. She closed her eyes, thought for a second and then blew out the candles.

After eating cake it was late already, and Morgan had to go to bed. When she had brushed her teeth and put on her pyjama she sat in her bed. I already knew what she was expecting. " Can you tell the story about the spider?" She asked me.

" Okay." I told her. She lay down and I sat down on the side of her bed. " Once there was a boy named Peter Parker. He was nice, caring and very smart. One day Peter and his classmates went on a school trip, where Peter got bit by a spider. The next morning he woke up feeling different. He was stronger, faster and could stick to walls. So he made a suit and called himself Spider-Man. He helped people every day after school. He stopped a bicycle thief, showed an old lady the way, and looked out for everyone in his town. The nice old lady even bought him a churro. Until this day Spider-Man helps the little people in the streat, making him a true-"

" Hero." She finished the story yawning.

" That's right." I said and tucked her in. She was about to fall asleep.

" I love you O." She said while I turned off the light.

" Love you too M." I told her and went back downstairs.

Dad was doing the dishes so I joined him. " I thought you said you didn't like birthday wishes." He said while handing me a plate.

" She's five, she has to believe in something." I said drying the plate and putting it away.

" Then why do you still make them?" He asked me. It was true, I still closed my eyes every time I blew out my candles.

" I wish for her wishes to come true." I said.

" Why did Natasha call?" He asked me after a silent moment.

" She just wanted to know how we were." I said " And she was pretty surprised by the hair." I smiled pointing at it.

" Yeah, we all were." He laughed.

" Anyway, I think I'll be going to bed." I said " Shopping with a five year old is exhausting."

" Goodnight." Dad told me.

" Goodnight." I said.
