I was sitting in a conference room with Tony, waiting for the guy at the front desk to bring in Cooper's will. I felt Tony grab my hand. I looked up at him. I was completely crushed. He pulled my chair closer to him and pulled me close, kissing me on the forehead. I hugged him tight.
"It'll be ok. We will get through this. Together. If you need anything please just ask."
I nodded.
"Thank you."
The man walked in and laid a huge book like thing in front of me.
"Here you go. I'm sorry about your loss." He walked out of the room.
I stared at the book.
"Take your time. It's ok." Tony reassured me.
I took a deep breathe and opened it. I started to look through some of the things he was giving to who. His dog tags to mom and dad, his dog to a friend. Little stuff.
"I think Easton will go to mom and dad."
I flipped to the page that listed all the family info. I skimmed through fast trying to find Easton's name.
"Oh my gosh." My mouth dropped.
"What?" Tony asked.
"Coop left the custody of Easton to... Me."
"To you?!" I nodded and showed him.
Our lives were about to change forever.
