Ember's POV
As my troops and I were walking back, I heard somebody call for my name.
"Ember!" Andrew called, loud enough for me to hear, but quiet enough that the Terrayite Kingdom couldn't hear. "Wait!"
I drew out Flamix and tackled the older boy.
"I can slit your throat right now," I threatened. "Especially after what you guys did!"
"W-wait!" Andrew pleaded. "Just let me talk first!"
I thought about it for a moment.
"Alright," I said. "Because I'm a nice guy, I'll let you talk."
I got off Andrew, but Damian pulled his sword out just in case Andrew tried to pull a fast one.
"I thought they would honor the peace treaty," Andrew explained. "I really did. But I guess, they were planning something all along. Something they never told me about."
"Go on," I told him.
"When I think about what they did," he continued. "I didn't like it, and neither would our fallen friends and family. As a former prince, I know that violating a peace treaty is a death sentence. And... I can't be on the side that violated the peace treaty. Especially when they were the ones who made the treaty in the first place. I know how much the tree meant for you, and I'm really sorry about what happened."
"The Terrayite Kingdom started this," I said. "They'll have to pay."
Andrew nodded. "I understand," he replied.
"We'll go to forbidden grounds to fight if we have to," I said under my breath.
"I won't let the Terrayite Kingdom take over my nation." I said in a bold voice.
"Our nation," Andrew amended.
We all turned to look at him with surprise.
It took a moment for the words he just said to sink in.
Then we smiled.
"You in?" I asked, offering my hand.
"You bet!" He replied, accepting my hand.
We shook hands, sealing the deal.
"Welcome to the Revolution," I told him.
