Sheila's POV

"Your majesty!"

At those two words, my brother turned around to see Ciara, catching her breath.

"The Young Dreamers Nation is here!" She reported.

I immediately drew out my two katanas.

"Do they look like they're going to attack?" Ryan asked.

Ciara gave him a look. "Can't tell," she replied. "They have white flags out but they look kinda mad."

"How many?"

"Just three of them," Ciara said. "That jerk ass and whoever those two out of the world aliens are."

"Damian," I said, gritting my teeth. "That can't be good."

"Three of them doesn't seem like a threat," my brother said. "They'd be stupid to attack."

"I'm surprised Ember isn't with them," Ciara said.

"Thank you for your report," Ryan said. "Please get Ser Patrick and Lady Azura here."

Ciara nodded and ran off.

About five minutes later, Patrick and Azura was here, both of them equally as confused.

"Sorry for the short notice," my brother said. "But we have visitors."

Patrick and Azura shared glances as my boyfriend lead the three "visitors" to the meeting room.

"Hello there," Jun said in a cool voice.

"Hey! Bow to the king!" Patrick snapped.

I felt the group glance at each other.

"He's not our king," Nina said. "Our leader was a she, and she died."

Damian nodded. "Besides, Ember never made us bow to him," he pointed out.

"Speaking of Ember," Jun said, cutting to the chase. "Where is he?"

"Excuse me?" Azura asked.

"He said, where's Ember?" Damian said. "Come on! We're literally against each other! I'm sure you've abducted him."

Ryan shook his head. "No," he said. "We have no clue where Ember is, and we definitely did not kidnap him."

"Yeah," I said. "We're not pure evil, unlike some people."

Damian turned pale and looked away. "I know what I did," he said. "And I hated it."

I laughed at that lie.

"Don't give me that bullshit," I said. "You're evil, and that will ever change."

There was a flash of silver, and before I knew it, Nina was pointing a mechanical sword at me.

"W-what?!" I asked. "What is the meaning of this?!"

Jun grabbed Nina's hand, and the girl lowered her blade.

"Don't you ever say that again," she said, stepping back towards Damian, who was staring at the ground.

"But it's true!" I argued.

"It wasn't Damian's fault," Jun said softly.

"Yeah it was!" I said. "Stop defending him?"

The two exchanged glances.

"Because we had a friend like that," Jun said. "His name was Akuji. And just like Damian, he unwillingly became the Overseer's puppet."

"The Overseer can take over anyone," Damian explained. "I was watching myself do complete shitty deeds and couldn't stop myself." He looked down, at his shaking hands. "It was frustrating, it was horrifying, and today, I have been reminded that I will forever pay the price."

"What about Tsuki?" Jun demanded. "She was under the control of the Overseer too."

I turned pale, remembering the young girl I killed.

I remembered her eyes going back to normal, and the look of relief she had painted on her face, before she died.

"She didn't deserve to die " I whispered.

"Well, Akuji didn't deserve his fate and neither did Damian," Jun said.

"That's the problem with you guys," Nina said. "You don't believe in second chances. Ember does, he gave his worst enemy a second chance. The reason we left? Ember helped us when we woke up. He's the only reason why we're still alive."

"I think anyone who was under the Overseer's control," I said. "Did something to deserve it."

"Are you stupid?!" Damian snapped. "Everybody was under his control for a short time! Ember is the only reason we all have our own minds, and what you do is mock him! Ember is no idiot! He's really intelligent, he just has to take a while to think! His thought process is just slower than normal!"

"SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP ALREADY!" I screamed, grabbing the closest thing I saw, a glass bottle.

Without a second thought, I threw it at Damian.

The young man yelled and narrowly dodged it.

I glared at the three... but then froze.

Nina was trembling and whimpering with Jun hugging her tightly.

Why did that scare her?

"Maybe we should go," Damian said. "It's clear that they don't have any idea where our friend is."

"I'm sorry," Azura said, and Jun nodded.

"It's not your fault," he said. "Come on Nina, it's okay, he's gone from your life anyways."

Nina just stiffly walked next to Jun, as he supported the young girl.

He gave me a hard look. "You know," he said. "For someone who's dating a former criminal, you sure love to talk about how nobody deserves a second chance."

And with that, the three of them left.

"Everyone is dismissed," my brother said, his voice shaking a bit.

Everyone else left, but I stood still.

A few moments passed before I slumped down on the wall.

"I think I really fucked up..."
