Stella's POV

While Misaki was doing something that Rain declared "sus". (I slapped him for that one), I had gone to visit Kaylee.

Now, you may be wondering... what could have possibly happened that I'd go see her?

Well, first things first-

Ember: I'ma say all the words inside my head

Uh, thank you Ember, but no.

Where was I... oh right!

Kaylee, if you recall, saved me. She ignored her boss and decided to help save my life, despite me being a Netherkin, which by now, most have accepted.

Sure, there was a few residents who were nervous around me, and yes, it did hurt, but some people take longer to heal.

Ash had told me the reason why Ember was such a jerk was because he was attacked by Netherkin when he was only about six years old. She had saved him, although he didn't know it was her back then.

That explained a lot of things, and I did feel awful for him, because him yelling at me... I never really had thought of his side of the story.

Thankfully, he has seemed to have gotten better at his freak outs.

Except with spiders, but that's okay.

But not only had Kaylee saved me, we had promoted her once Beatrice mysteriously died, but Razer had even used a relic to revive her, so when the gates did close... she could stay in the Overworld.

I'm going to hate it once the Undead gates close.

We're gonna lose Razer, Andrew and Kyle.

Meeps? She's not actually dead but she's not exactly alive either, so she has a choice of where she wants to go.

But she'll choose the Underworld because that's where her close friend Razer and brother Andrew is, as well as her patient, Kyle.

It's a no brainer.

But secondly, the reason why I like Kaylee is that she had sacrificed herself for Alistair, fighting off a horde of zombies with only a wooden sword and with no fighting experience. For those who didn't respect her... she gained a lot of respect that day.

Also, she's engaged to Sheila's older brother, King Ryan.

Which, once they get married... will make Kaylee a queen and co-ruler of the Terrayite Kingdom.

"Kaylee?" I asked, knocking on her door in the infirmary.

Kaylee opened the door and the young twenty-four year old woman walked out with a smile.

(Note: Lady Azura and Dexter are now twenty-six and twenty-five, respectively, Ser Patrick is now thirty-two, and Daryll is now thirty-seven).

"Hello Miss Stella," she said, her blond hair was up in a braid. "It's nice to see you again."

I smiled. "Thank you," I said. "It's nice to see you too."

Kaylee smiled back at me and went to grab a chart and read it.

"Are you excited?" I asked and Kaylee gave me a confused look.

"I mean for your wedding," I added. "You're gonna become Queen of the Terrayite Kingdom after all."

Kaylee gave me an uneasy smile. "Yes," she said. "I'm excited, but also nervous too. I mean... it's a huge leap becoming Queen without any leading experience."

I knew what she meant, because I felt the same way.

"At least I'll still be able to work here," she said. "Ryan said I'm allowed to."

When she said that, I felt relieved.

"Anyways," Kaylee said, cutting to the chase. "You came here for a reason?"

"My DNA results," I said.

Kaylee nodded. "Sorry for intruding, Miss Stella," she told me. "But may I ask why you wanted to take a DNA test?"

I shrugged, truthfully I wasn't sure why I wanted to take one.

I just did one day.

Kaylee sighed, and I got nervous, because that sigh could mean that I have some heart disease and will die in the next week.

"I got your results back," Kaylee said. "And I did some asking around."

"Well, what is it?" I asked.

Kaylee hesitated for a moment before continuing. "After getting your results," she said. "I was confused, so I went to Ceris to ask her some questions.

I nodded, confused.

"Ceris... she- she told me that she's Aromantic Asexual," Kaylee continued. "And has never been in a relationship before."

Just like Meeps, I thought.

"I asked her if she had any siblings before but she replied no, it was only her."

Now, I was definitely confused, what was Kaylee getting at?

"But my mother..." I said, confused. "She's Ceris' descendent!"

Kaylee shook her head. "Nebula wasn't ever part Enderkin at all, and neither was her husband."

"But..." I said. "I thought I was..."

"You are part Enderkin," Kaylee said. "But I made Nebula do a DNA test as well."

"How'd you manage to do that?"

"Held her up at gunpoint," Kaylee said nonchalantly.

"But her DNA results came in to show that she has no Ender Watcher bloodline," the Frostbourne Healer continued. "And she has zero relationship to you."

Everything was so confusing.

"Ceris never had any descendants at all," Kaylee told me.

No, that can't be right... it can't!

"But Ceris said she was my ancestor!" I protested. "And Nebula is my mom!"

Kaylee just gave me a sympathetic smile. "Stella," she said so softly that I dreaded her next words. "Nebula isn't your mother."

I froze, my heart pounding.

"And Ceris isn't related to you either," she continued. "She's not related to either of you at all."

"What?" I asked. "What are you saying?!"

Kaylee just smiled for a moment, as if trying to reassure me that everything was going to be okay.

"Stella," she finally said. "You're adopted."

Note: This chapter was made due to Rainimator's revelation that Ceris is AroAce, and Stella being her descendent is no longer canon.
