Chapter 111: Drowning

Notes: In this series, it's actually unknown that a zombie will turn into a Drowned if underwater.

Cari's POV

One hour ago, before the world fell apart, I had been reading a new book I got from the library.

The Steve Virus was a very interesting book. It was a twisted reality where Steves were slowly taking over Minecraft, infecting as many players as they could, converting them to Steves.

Sometimes I wondered if stories were once real. If stories weren't always just fantasies our minds conjures up.

And now, here I was, frozen in... fear? shock? I'm not sure... but when was I ever sure?

I wasn't expecting it, but the explosions went on, shaking the earth that we stood on.

The world trembled, making it hard to stand up.

Mobs... were coming into battle. Mobs that swore their loyalty to the Overseer.

I backed up towards a large lake. A few weeks ago, I had chosen to live near that location so I could visit the water whenever I felt like it.

Right now, I wanted to go and hide in this lake.

Lyria, however, was pumped. "Woohoo!" She said. "I'm not the best fighter... but this going to be awesome!"

She wasn't the best fighter? She admitted that, but yet... it didn't seem to unnerve her.

I wish I could be brave like her.

"I'm going to help the rest of the Elytra Corps!" Lyria told me. "Good luck!"

I nodded, as I watched as the battle rage on.

Blood was flying everywhere. And, oh God... w-was that someone's head?!

There were five mobs, and they were the most common mobs there was. But... they were bigger, more muscular... a lot more scarier.

These mutants shook off the attacks as if they were nothing.

I watched as Luna the Ender Dragon, who was large enough to carry one person, breathed fire on the mobs, only to be shot down by a giant arrow.

I saw Rain make a motion with his hand, telling the young dragon to fly off.

If Luna died, there might not be another Ender Dragon ever again.

The mutant creeper blew up several of the soldiers, but it kept coming back. It was blowing up, and yet it wasn't self destructing.

The Elytra Corps shot and stabbed as many ghasts as they could.

I watched as Alex and Sheila made quick work of the mutant spider, while Ember decided to deal with the mutant enderman.

While the mutant enderman was definitely scarier with it's teleporting, blinding and cloning abilities, compared to the mutant spider. Given Ember's arachnophobia, it was pretty justified that he'd tried to fight the mob that was a lot more dangerous.

Razer was attacking the skeleton using his katanas, however the giant creeper appeared behind him.

Razer put his mask on and the katanas turned into a scythe which he used to attack the skeleton.

Suddenly, I saw Meeps shoot the creeper with her bow and arrows, along with Kyle who was firing at the creeper. 

Andrew quickly joined Ember and the two of them fought the mutant enderman.

But... where was the mutant zombie? And where was Moon?

I heard a scream as Moon crashed down near the lake, she stood back up, wincing in pain.
