Ember's POV

"So... remind me why we're doing this?" Rain asked.

"We need to relax!" I said. "Just chill out! Come on Rain, it's okay to take days off!"

"Did we even win this battle?" Moon asked skeptically.

"I think it ended in a draw," Andrew replied, tinkering with an explosive.

"Hey!" I protested. "I'm trying to be positive here!"

Alex fell over laughing.

"What's to celebrate?!" Rain asked.

"We survived!" I answered. "None of us died!"

"Is he okay?" Razer whispered.

"Shhh, he's trying," Meeps whispered back.

"He's failing," Razer said bluntly.

I facepalmed, mentally giving up.

There was an awkward pause.

"So... anyone want to play cards?" Moon asked.

"So fourth wall breaking moment," Alex said suddenly.

"There is no fourth wall," Meeps replied.

"Don't you feel like this chapter is being wasted?" He asked.

Everyone in the room nodded in agreement. This chapter was being wasted.

"What was your reaction when you learned this was going to be a fanfic series?" Moon read aloud.

"Welp," Meeps deadpanned. "There goes the fourth wall."

"Do I get paid to do this?" Alex added.

"Why do I feel like I'll regret this," I offered.

"No," Stella simply said.

"I sure hope I'm not named Shawny," Razer said.

"Why," Kyle said, annoyed.

"If there's blood, I'm in!" Sheila cheered.

"Another emo writing a Rainimator fanfic! How original." Andrew snarked.

"What's a fanfic?" Moon asked.

Oh no!" Rain groaned. "Another stupid idea that the author is using to recycle because she can't think of anything! Fucking Moonlark."

I watched as Moon collapsed onto the floor, laughing.

"Speaking of fanfics," I said. "Do you think this series will ever be finished? I mean Rebirth was going to be the finale, but that turned out to be false and by the looks of it... this fanfic won't be the finale either."

"Nope!" Andrew said. "This series will never end and it's all Moonlark's fault!"

"She can just leave this book with an ambiguous ending," Meeps offered.

"NO!" Everyone else shouted, slightly horrified that they wouldn't know their confirmed fate.

"Has anyone else noticed that none of their books has had a rating of any kind?" Sheila asked.

"F," Kyle said.

"Yeah, we can all agree that Moonlark is suffering while writing this," Rain amended. "This fanfic end before it's truly over."

One thing that's been bothering me is that some Rainimator fanfics are only 6 chapters long and each chapter is really short, where almost nothing happens in almost every chapter, and yet they still get ranked top 10 in Rainimator.

I also learned that being active helps with rankings which makes no sense because this person left Wattpad.

Sorry, that's not fair of me, but I'm kind of frustrated that I haven't gotten a ranking yet on any of my stories. Even a #1000 would be amazing!

Also, the example I used... it's not fair of me to use them. I'm just frustrated at them as well.

Actually no, I'm mad at them, but not because of this.

I know I should be patient but sometimes it's hard.

But I'm wondering if this series is actually worth my time now.
